Destiny 2: Deep Dive Secrets

Deep Dive was introduced with Destiny 2’s Season of the Deep and it contains secrets that you can discover as you explore the methane ocean.

As a Guardian, you have to protect the Earth’s last safe city from horrifying foes in this adventurous video game, Destiny 2.

Season of the Deep introduced new content and activities for gamers to enjoy, such as Deep Dive, which features various secrets for you to discover.

Season of the Deep

Season of the Deep is the 21st season of Bungie’s ever-expanding video game, Destiny 2. Similarly to previous seasons, the new season introduces new story missions, activities and loot to the game.

The season officially began on 23 May 2023, and it invites players to explore an entire new area of the game.

This season follows the story of Sloane, Zavala’s deputy commander, as she continues her adventure to explore below the surface. In addition to the new arc, you can procure new gear pieces and weapons which correspond with the new theme.

To enjoy the new content, you have to purchase the season pass for approximately 1200 Silver. Moreover, a season pass and a 10-rank bundle will cost approximately 2200 Silver.

Destiny 2: Deep Dive Secrets

Deep Dive is a new solo, or 3-player matchmade, Seasonal Activity introduced with the Season of the Deep. It sends players under the methane ocean of Titan to procure the power that Sloane needs to connect with Ahsa.

Although it is a very straightforward activity, you could miss several secrets as you advance in it. One thing you can look out for is the aquatic flora, which are scattered throughout the activity.

Every week adds 2 new plants, and since we are in week 2, there are 4 plants that you can find, namely Twilight Plant, Twilight Flora, Midnight Plant and Midnight Flora.

Once you have collected the flora, you will be able to place them in your Aquarium Vivarium, which is also a new feature in Destiny 2.

As you advance through the activity, you may notice the activity description and its triumphs mention Pressure Trials – you can activate these trials to gain additional rewards.

To activate a trial, players must find Toland, which is a glowing Spirit of Taken essence. You can find it in the first encounter area, and you have to activate it to “invoke the darkness.’’

If the trial is active, you have to destroy floating blights or stand on glowing pressure blights. After defeating the boss, you have to trigger the Pressure Trial. Keep in mind that if you fail the Pressure Trial, you fail the encounter.

Where to find the flora

There are 4 unique plants that you can find during the Deep Dive activity:

Plant How to find it
Twilight Plant Just before you go into the underwater caves, walk straight ahead and then turn right. You may need to crouch to get through a small gap, where you will find the plant.
Twilight Flora At the end of the underwater cave section, you will find a big room with various plants. Before opening the door, look for the molecular-looking coral object on the right side of the room. The plant is next to it.
Midnight Plant When you are at the second drop with a moving fan at the button, there will be an open hatch on the right side of the platform. After dropping down, you will discover a series of corridors, where you will find barnacles on the wall.
Midnight Flora Once you have switched the fan off, you will discover a cave area with aquatic plants. Players must drop down and look behind a stone pillar to find this plant.

Deep Dive Keys

Completing Deep Dive will reward you with Deep Dive Keys. These keys should not be confused with Salvage Keys, which are specific to that activity. The Deep Dive Keys provide additional rewards at the end of a Deep Dive.

You can acquire additional keys through the Seasonal Vendor reputation reward, from the season pass, completing playlist activities and depositing fish in your aquarium.

Once all the Deep Dive bosses are available to vanquish, you will unlock the Deep Sea Locksmith Seasonal Bonus, which gives players opportunity to get a Deep Dive Key whenever they use a Salvage Key.

How to begin the Deep Dive activity

Destiny 2 players can start the Deep Dive activity by opening their H.E.L.M director. If it is your first dive, we recommend that you complete it with friends. But if you are confident in your combat abilities, you can try to complete it solo.

It is advisable that only high-level players with powerful gear and weapons attempt the activity solo. Lower-level players should complete it with other Guardians.
