Destiny 2: Marathon Emblem

To celebrate Bungie’s Marathon announcement, Destiny 2 players can redeem an exclusive Marathon Emblem on the official Bungie website.

In Destiny 2, players can take on the role of a Guardian to explore the fictional world of Sol, which is being threatened by intergalactic enemies.

There are several ways to customize your characters within the game, however, you can redeem the Marathon Emblem on the official Bungie website to unlock a customization item.

What is Marathon?

Marathon is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Bungie. The game was originally released in December 1994, and it takes place several centuries into the future in outer space.

In the game, players had to stop an alien invasion aboard a colony ship known as the Marathon.

Although the game is nearly 30 years old, Bungie announced that it is returning to its roots with a new chapter in its Marathon franchise.

This version of the Marathon game focuses on the player-versus-player gaming mode. Gamers can either enjoy the game solo or with up to 2 other friends.

Destiny 2: Marathon Emblem

In order to celebrate the announcement of the new Marathon video game, Bungie revealed that players can procure an exclusive Marathon Emblem. Emblems are collectible items and backgrounds for player nameplates.

Other Guardians can view your Emblems during loading screens, player listing rosters and after completing Crucible Matches. You can use emblems, along with your Ghost, ship, sparrow and shader, to customize your character in Destiny 2.

There are numerous emblems in Destiny 2, some of which can be purchased, while others can be acquired by completing tasks. However, the Marathon Emblem cannot be purchased or earned.

To collect the Marathon Emblem, players must  close Destiny 2 and open the official Bungie Website. After logging into your account, select your profile icon, which is in the upper right corner of the screen.

On the drop down menu, click on the “Redeem Codes” option, which allows players to enter a unique code to unlock a unique item in the game.

Players have to enter the JND-HLR-L69 code in the available spaces to collect the Marathon Emblem.

After entering the code, you can open Destiny 2, where you can find the new item in your collections by selecting the “Flare” category. You have to select the “General” tab to view and activate the Marathon Emblem.

It is worth noting that the Marathon Emblem cannot be used, as Bungie revealed that it will only unlock after the next game update.

Is the Marathon Emblem a permanent feature?

It is unclear whether the Marathon Emblem code will expire or remain active forever. We therefore recommend that you redeem the code as soon as possible to ensure that you can show off your Marathon item as soon as it becomes available.

Although it is yet to be unlocked, players can redeem the code by visiting the official Bungie website. By redeeming the code, you ensure that you can use the item when it becomes available.

When does Marathon release?

Bungie officially announced the new Marathon video game during the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase. Unsurprisingly, they did not reveal when the game will officially launch.

According to the dev team, the game is still in a very early stage of development, and they are not ready to reveal a production timeline.

This means that players may have to wait several years before the official release of the new Marathon video game. Hence, gamers should keep an eye on the official Bungie website, as all official information is posted on it.

Marathon’s gameplay

Although the developers did not reveal much about the upcoming video game, it did reveal some hints about the game’s storyline and gameplay.

As a Runner, players will venture out into the wilds of Tau Ceti IV as they compete for survival, riches and renown in a world of evolving zones.

The chances that you may encounter some not-so-friendly fire while out in the field are incredibly high. Fortunately, you can shrug off death as shifting your consciousness between hosts is a part of everyday Runner life.

In addition to fighting other players, you may have to vanquish artificial intelligence (AI) enemies as you explore the vast world. The objective is to survive long enough to secure your loot and to earn additional rewards.

Bungie has allegedly teased that it wants to make sure that Destiny 2 players have many strategic choices, both in terms of the gear available and their loadouts, but also in terms of tactical options, entrance and exfil points.
