The Helltide Commander in Diablo 4 can spawn in any of the game’s regions at the end of a Portal Invasion Helltide activity.
The endless battle between the Burning Hells and the High Heavens rages on as chaos threatens to consume Sanctuary in this exciting video game, Diablo 4.
There are various activities that you can enjoy in the game, one of which is Helltide. During this activity, you may encounter the Helltide Commander, which spawns at a specific location.
Helltide
Endgame players can enjoy a range of activities, such as the Helltide. As you explore Sanctuary, you should be aware of your surroundings, as you could find yourself caught in a Helltide where powerful demons roam the hellscape to kill you.
Helltide is a zone-wide event that empowers enemies, which means that it increases their levels to always be 3 above your character’s level.
Although the demons are extremely difficult to slay, the rewards that you will earn makes the adventure worthwhile.
Keep in mind, however, that you need to complete certain activities and missions in order to unlock the Helltide activity.
Diablo 4: Helltide Commander Location
After unlocking the Helltide activity, you may find yourself in a Helltide as you explore Sanctuary. This activity occurs at random times and when it spawns, it is only active for 1 hour before it expires.
When a Helltide expires, the following Helltide will occur in another zone 1 hour and 10 minutes later. Fortunately, there are many third-party websites which track Helltide timers.
When you find an active Helltide, you should be on the lookout for certain dangerous aspects and enemies which appear during the activity.
Players should observe the battlefield for Helltide Meteors, Carver Lunatics, Helltide Assassins, Helltide Commanders, Helltide Harbingers, Bears, Vampiric Elite Revenants, Corpsefiend as well as Crusher, among other dangers.
One of the dangers that you can encounter during the Helltide activity is the Helltide Commander, which spawns at the end of the Portal Event.
This random boss has the same mechanics of a dungeon boss, which makes them deadly if there are several demons and Rare Elites still alive by the time he spawns.
The Helltide Commander has caused some confusion amongst Diablo 4 players, as his exact location is unknown. Furthermore, this Commander does not spawn in all Helltide events.
Players should note that this event can spawn instead of Local Events in affected Zones. When it is active, numerous Occultists are trying to perform a ritual and you have to prevent it.
By killing the Occultists, Invasion Portals will spawn, which summons additional demons. After defeating all combatants, a Helltide Commander will spawn.
Portal Invasion Mechanics
When you find an active Portal Invasion Helltide activity, you should remember certain mechanics.
If the event has not started, you will find several cultists clustered around a wide space. In order to make the portals appear, you must eliminate all the cultists. The goal of the event is to destroy all seven portals.
Every portal spawns several enemy mobs, including elite enemies. As long as a portal remains open, it will continue to spawn enemies. You are therefore guaranteed to see numerous enemies crowding around in an area.
How to vanquish the Helltide Commander
After you destroy the seventh portal, the Helltide Commander will appear. There is a possibility that you may recognize their appearance as Cruxx is akin to Brol the Tyrant King. You can therefore expect some quick lunges and leaps.
Zurden, on the other hand, is quite similar to Elais Hatred’s Remnant, therefore, you have to avoid dark flame area-of-effect abilities. After vanquishing the boss, it will drop loot that you can pick up.
Helltide details
In order to find the Helltide Commander during the Portal Invasion event, you need to unlock the Helltide activity.
Diablo 4 players must complete the Campaign Storyline: Prologue, Act 1-6 and the Epilogue. This unlocks the quest titled World Tier 3: Nightmare (Veteran) – Complete the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon.
You then have to go to the World Tier Statue in Kyovashad and switch from World Tier 2: Veteran difficulty to World Tier 3: Nightmare Difficulty, after which you will unlock the The Helltide Rises quest.
After completing the quest, you can find Helltides in any of the game’s regions.
Though it is noteworthy that there is no guarantee that a Portal Invasion event will take place when a Helltide event spawns.
