One of the Champion Points you can benefit from in The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is Occult Overload, though it is mostly used in player-versus-player mode.
Gamers are invited to explore the fantasy world of Tamriel in this thrilling video game, The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO).
As the name of the game suggests, it is part of the well-renowned The Elder Scrolls series, which means that you can find similar locations, questlines, and non-player characters (NPCs) in this version of the game.
Unlike its predecessors, ESO is an online video game, which enables you to enjoy it with other gamers. The game has classes, each of which have unique skills and abilities.
Once your character has reached level 50, you can unlock Champion Points (CP). Although each class has different skills, they all have access to the same CP and one of them is Occult Overload.
Champion Points
The Champion Point system is one of the main ways to acquire additional benefits for your characters by allocating points to a few stars in a constellation. There are currently 3 constellations in the game, namely, Warfare, Fitness and Craft.
Each constellation is represented by the 3 guardians: The Thief, The Mage, and The Warrior. Players should take into account that their CP are equally divided between the constellations. This means that if your character has 900 CP, you can allocate 300 points to each constellation.
The maximum CP you can acquire in the game is currently 3600, which is then equally divided amongst each constellation.
ESO: Occult Overload
The Warfare is one of the 3 Greater Constellations in ESO, and it mainly focuses on combat-related bonuses. The skills in this constellation have stages, and players need to invest enough points into a skill to unlock the bonuses of every stage.
The constellation has 4 slots for certain passive skills, and players can swap passives any time out of combat. One of the skills you will find in Warfare is Occult Overload.
Its official description states that if you kill an enemy that is under the effect of a status effect, they violently explore for 2560 Oblivion Damage per stage to all other enemies in a 4-meter range.
In order to activate this skill, players have to slot it into 1 of the 4 slots, which can be found on top of the CP menu.
Similarly to other skills, Occult Overload has varying stages, and you have to allocate a specific number of points to activate each stage. However, the maximum number of points you can allocate to this skill is 50.
Can Occult Overload be used in player-versus-environment mode?
Occult Overload can benefit your game significantly, as it can provide you with a lot of extra damage. However, it is mainly used in the player-versus-player gaming mode, such as in Cyrodiil against larger groups of enemies.
That being said, players can also use it for trash mobs in the player-versus-environment gaming mode. It is recommended that you do not use it while enjoying a dungeon or during a trial, as there are few ads.
Does Occult Overload stack with the Plaguebreak set?
As you progress in the game, you will discover an array of gear sets such as the Plaguebreak armour set. When your character wears 5 pieces of this set, they will have the ability to turn an enemy into a Plague Carrier for 10 seconds, and this deals 1715 Disease Damage.
If the plague is removed early, it explodes, and it infects any enemies within 8 meters of the carrier. This explosion deals 712 Disease Damage and will deal an additional 50 percent damage per enemy hit. This effect stacks with the Occult Overload CP.
It essentially means that enemies explode with both the Plaguebreak set and the Occult Overload skill. Players can increase this effect by also equipping the Vicious Death gear set.
How to unlock Occult Overload
It is crucial to remember that you have to acquire CP before you can unlock Occult Overload. Since it is tied to experience points, obtaining CP involves the same activities as levelling up your character.
These activities include, but are not limited to, killing enemies, completing quests, exploring dungeons and challenging yourself in trials.
Once you have enough CP, you can go to the CP menu, where you will find the 3 constellations, one of which is Warfare. In this constellation, you will find the Occult Overload skill, which you can unlock by allocating points to it. You have to slot it into the skill bar to activate its effects.
