Overview
Lord of the Rings (LOTR): Rise to War is a fun mobile game that allows players to enjoy strategic and role-playing elements. It is based on the popular trilogy, Lord of the Rings. You will thus see similar content, characters, stories and gameplay while progressing in the game.
Similar to other free-to-play games, it consists of various seasons. Every season introduces new and exciting changes to the game.
This means that you can enjoy new Commanders, troops and structures every time a new season launches. Please note that the game performs a season reset from time to time.
What is a season reset?
It is important to note that a season has to end in order for the next season to start. Once a season ends, the game’s developers perform a season reset. This means that the regions, and all the tiles your faction captures will reset. Moreover, your city’s progression will also reset.
That being said, your equipment and Commanders will be carried over to the next season. It is believed that a season reset gives everyone a fair chance to begin a new chapter. It can be seen as a clean slate, where nobody has an advantage or disadvantage against other factions and players.
LOTR: Rise to War Season 2
The world is changed, and the second season of LOTR: Rise to War commenced on 25 November 2021. It introduced various new content, Commanders and structures to the game. The following table indicates the Commanders you were able to collect during Season 2, and their tiers:
Commander | Tier |
Adunae | 2 |
Beruthiel | 3 |
Elladan | 2 |
Imrahil | 2 |
Thorin | 3 |
Zegerid | 2 |
You also had the opportunity to enjoy new neutral units, including Risers, Dunlending Warriors, Hobbit Archers and Great Beasts. Moreover, you were able to build the Gundabad and Madh Ortogh structures.
Season 2 also introduced new equipment and structure buffs that were able to improve your Commanders’ skills and abilities. Please note that the above-mentioned features were only available for collection during the second season in the game.
Since it concluded, it is unclear if you are still able to collect and enjoy some of the Commanders and other features. That being said, season 3 of the game has already been released and has brought with it various new content.
Season 3
Season 3 kicked off on 10 February 2022, and it introduced numerous new contents. You can now enjoy 2 new evil factions, 4 new Commanders, new neutral units, new equipment and gear. During this season, you can obtain the following Commanders:
- Celeborn
- Cirdan
- Lathar
- Cestaro
Please note that the Commanders depend on your faction. This means that you might not be able to obtain an evil Commander if you form part of a good faction.
The neutral units include, but are not limited to Keepers, SeaFarers and Vanguards. Moreover, Variags and Gundabad are 2 new factions that have been added in Season 3.
What happened to structure buffs?
The structure buffs, which are a feature introduced in Season 2, are now locked for structure development. When you occupy a control point, your faction has to work together to develop the structure through structure tasks to unlock its full potential.
In order to complete the tasks, you have to send a Commander to the control point from which they can complete a set of 10 different tasks.
It is recommended that you work with your faction, as this will speed up the process. Once you have unlocked the structure’s full potential, you and your faction will receive the buffs it provides.
Season Medals
You should remember that season 3 provides an entire new look at earning Season Medals. This means that you must be active and contribute towards your faction’s success in order to receive maximum Season rewards.
Moreover, a combination of capturing control points and prestige will determine how many Season Medals you will receive. That being said, betrayers, spies and alt-accounts may have a harder time earning rewards during this season.
