Cross Worlds has introduced a multiplayer world, which allows players to play the game with friends.
The game contains a variety of activities and events for you to enjoy, but you first have to complete the tutorial quest to understand the game’s mechanics. You can discover Vistas, summon Familiars, complete the main campaign, and defeat monsters once the tutorial quest is completed.
What is a Familiar?
Players receive their first Familiar during the early stages of the game. Familiars are defined as Warriors of Heart, and they are born from everything in the fictional world that has a heart. These cute creatures’ main purpose is to aid you in your travels.
Although you first have to connect your character’s heart to the heart of a Familiar before they can join you on adventures. Fortunately, it is a simple process. You can allegedly link 3 types of Familiars to your character, with having unique skills to help you defeat enemies.
Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds: Hippocampus
The game currently offers more than 20 Familiars that you can collect and use, and the 4-star Hippocampus is one of them. He has a base Combat Power (CP) of 17 and 942, and he identifies as an in-game Attack type Familiar.
Hippocampus is purportedly a fantastic damage-dealer for Water Elemental Familiars and for overall Water Elemental teams. Similarly to other Familiars, he has unique abilities to help you defeat enemies.

When considering Hippocampus’ skills, it will come as no surprise that he is part of the S-tier, which means that he is currently one of the best Familiars in the game.
How to acquire Hippocampus
Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds features a gacha system that lets players summon different rarities of Familiars using a range of summoning currencies. To procure Hippocampus, you have to head to the summoning tab, which can be found under the shop icon.
Here, you can summon equipment, costumes, and Familiars. However, the game occasionally hosts special events during which the drop rate of a specific item or Familiar will be increased. This can be found under the ‘Event’ tab, but it becomes unavailable when the event concludes.
Players currently have a higher chance to summon Hippocampus, as he is part of the current in-game event. Instead of his usual drop rate of 0.1250 per cent, he now has a summon rate of 0.2500 per cent.
It is worth noting that this event concludes on 7 June 2022, which means that the drop rate returns to normal on that day.
Can Hippocampus be improved?
Though Hippocampus is one of the best Familiars in the game, you should still invest time and resources into improving him. Fortunately, there are numerous methods you can use to upgrade him, but it is advised that you first focus on increasing his level. Once he has reached the maximum level, you can use the following methods:

Which Familiars should you use with Hippocampus?
As mentioned above, Hippocampus can increase Water element Familiars’ damage by 1 per cent. It is thus advised that you slot 2 additional Water Familiars with Hippocampus to benefit from additional damage. You can use the following Familiars:
