PSO2 NGS: Malevolent Vardias

Malevolent Vardias is a Recon Gigant enemy that can only be found in a region in PSO2: NGS called Stia.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2: NGS) is an adventurous video game that combines role-playing with tactical elements.

As part of the Artificial Relict to Keep Species (ARKS) organisation, it is up to you to defeat the DOLLS, who are powerful enemies. One of the enemies you can vanquish is Malevolent Vardias.

Enemies in PSO2: NGS

Enemies, including DOLLS and Alters, spawn in the Combat Sector of every zone. Some enemies have weak points, while others become stronger under certain conditions. All the enemies in PSO2: NGS are divided into 13 different categories.

You can therefore encounter Formers, Tames, Rare Enemies, Captains, Enhanced Enemies, Equalizing Enemies, and Megalotix Enemies. Moreover, you can attempt to defeat Ancient Enemies, Dread Enemies, Gigantix Enemies, and Seasonal Enemies.

It is noteworthy that every enemy has strengths and weaknesses. If you understand their strengths and weaknesses, you have a bigger chance of defeating the enemy.

PSO2 NGS: Malevolent Vardias

One of the enemy types that you will encounter is Gigantix Enemies. They are rare bosses that only appear during special weather conditions and disappear when the special weather dissipates.

Recon Gigants are a series of Gigantix Enemies that appear in exploration sectors of the Stia region.

Unlike Gigantix Enemies, Recons are composed of a group of normal enemies with the Gigantix enemy modifiers. When you continuously defeat the Recon Gigants in a sector, a specific Gigantix Boss will spawn once the necessary conditions are met.

One of the Recon Gigants you can find is Malevolent Vardias, which only spawns in the Stia region. Allegedly, you have to defeat all the enemies that spawn at the crater in Mediola 1. When you have defeated all the enemies, a Malevolent Vardias will spawn.

However, you can also find Malevolent Vardias near Feluse Ridge 2 Ryker. Furthermore, you also have to defeat several enemies before Malevolent Vardias spawns.

It is recommended that you do not try to vanquish the Recon enemies and Malevolent Vardias on your own. These enemies are exceptionally powerful and you may be unsuccessful in the battle.

Instead, you should team up with other players to defeat the enemies and so that you can receive rare drops.

Sega, PSO2: NGS’s developer, announced in December 2022 that the item drop rates have been increased for the items dropped by the Recon Gigant, Malevolent Vardias.

This means that you have a higher probability of obtaining the Gunblaze series of 8-star rarity weapons and Infernium.

Stia Region

Stia is a new region in PSO2: NGS and it has numerous locations. In the South, players can find Bourganiss Island and the Grainne Coast.

When you move North, you will find Stia Camp. On the west of Stia Camp is  Gable Mounted Road, Stia Outskirts, and Strobol Isle.

North of Stia Camp is the Dreisen Plant, Mediola Outer Area, Dext Base, and Mediola Outer Area 2. Stia also contains several Cocoons, Towers, and Region Mag.

It is important to note that Malevolent Vardias only spawns in specific parts of Stia, such as Mediola 1 and close to Feluse Ridge 2 Ryker.

Infernium

Infernium is a rare mineral that can only be acquired in the Stia region. Although it is a mineral, players can use it to procure a range of items. Once you have Infernium, you can go to a new exchange non-player character (NPC) who can be found in Stia Camp.

One of the items that you can exchange Infernium for is a new 8-star weapon series, Kouklophis. However, you can also purchase Dualble IV items, Arms Refiners, Kouklophis Camos, minerals, N-EX Cubes, and various Augments.
