Forza Horizon series is renowned for its stunning open-world environments, and Forza Horizon 3 is no exception. Instead of focusing on a single city, Forza Horizon 3 is set in a fictionalized representation of the entire country of Australia. This allows for a diverse landscape, ranging from the Australian Outback to the beaches of Surfers Paradise, and everything in between. The game puts you in charge of the Horizon Festival, letting you expand the event across various Australian regions as you complete races and challenges.

Exploring the Australian Landscape in Forza Horizon 3

Forza Horizon 3 doesn’t confine itself to a single city, making it unique in the series. Instead, it draws inspiration from various iconic locations across Australia to create a seamless and engaging open-world experience. Here’s a breakdown of some of the key areas featured in the game:

The Outback: Experience the vast, arid beauty of the Australian Outback, complete with red dirt tracks, dusty plains, and stunning rock formations. Driving through the Outback provides a thrilling sense of freedom and adventure.

Surfers Paradise: Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Surfers Paradise, with its bustling city streets, golden beaches, and towering skyscrapers. This coastal city is perfect for high-speed races and showcasing your driving skills.

The Great Ocean Road: Take on the winding curves and breathtaking coastal views of the Great Ocean Road, one of Australia’s most iconic driving routes. This scenic route offers a mix of challenging turns and picturesque landscapes.

Rainforests: Explore the lush, dense rainforests of Australia, with their winding roads, towering trees, and hidden pathways. These environments provide a unique and challenging driving experience.

The Desert Town of Coober Pedy: The underground opal mining town of Coober Pedy offers a unique and interesting area of exploration for the player.

The game’s map also includes locations inspired by Byron Bay, Ormiston Gorge, and other parts of Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and the Northern Territory.
