Fighting Naydra in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom is a unique and challenging experience. While direct combat against Naydra is not the main objective, players can interact with it in ways that involve combat elements.
Beating Naydra
Naydra, the Great Ice Dragon, is initially found corrupted by Malice on the peak of Mount Lanayru. To “beat” Naydra, players must free the dragon from its corruption. This involves using an arrow to remove any extra eyeballs and four designated eyes on the dragon’s head. Once freed, the challenge becomes scavenging and finding evidence of Naydra around the world.
Each dragon in the game, including Naydra, follows a specific path that allows players to encounter them regularly, and knowing these paths is essential for farming dragon parts.
How to Do It — A Step-by-Step Guide
To begin the process, find Naydra at the Spring of Wisdom at the peak of Mount Lanayru. Shoot the extra eyeball if it is there, otherwise target each of the four main eyes on the dragon’s head.
As the dragon begins to move around Hyrule, it traverses one of its predefined routes. A map of the Naydra path can be seen below.

Useful Tunics and Mounts
Gaining new set of Armor is one of the key goals for finishing the game. The appropriate Tunic to obtain such upgrades are the Fierce Deity Armor sets, and Tunic of the Wild. Two shards of Naydra’s Horns are used to upgrade the Champion’s Tunic to Level Three.
Reincarnating Farosh
Farosh, Dinraal and Naydra turn into light dragons of their respective regions when Ganon rises to power. Players can only be near them at certain spawn points, and one dragon is a building block of the three.
Preparation and Getting There
Wait on the grassy area on the south side of Lanayru Bay and Naydra will spawn from the western sky. Naydra will then take off and can either be encountered near Lanayru Reefs and the major transports, or can also be found in their respective areas.
Time frames
Careful observation of the Dragon’s movement will increase their spawn with reducing most of the forseeable difficulties. Naydra spwan can be observed at 9 AM, and at 12 AM, at 5 AM, and at other awakenings.
Note: Despite hybrid–time cycle resets, the game will only show the dragon during the initial spawn. This can happen twice during 24 hours period, as a new day starts at midnight.

The pathway of Naydra provides regular Naydra scales, which are dropped wherever they land.Be aware of any nearby Rocks and Tiles in the ** PATH**.

Following the corruption, it can be increasingly difficult to find the dragon. Alternatively, before the cycle, if repeated, the dragon will appear at 12:00 AM in Lanayru Bay and continue towards Hateno Village. Also, a Shrine can be used to reset time where similarly timedit patterns emerge.
