The short answer is a resounding YES! With an EA Play Pro subscription, you gain unlimited access to the latest FIFA title (currently EA Sports FC 24), and typically the Ultimate Edition or its equivalent, on PC. This means you don’t need to purchase the game separately. As long as your membership is active, you can dive into the beautiful game whenever you want. Think of it like Netflix, but for FIFA and a host of other EA titles.
Understanding EA Play vs. EA Play Pro
It’s crucial to differentiate between the standard EA Play and EA Play Pro subscriptions, as they offer distinctly different benefits concerning FIFA. EA Play grants you limited playtime (usually a 10-hour trial) of the newest FIFA game. This is a fantastic way to test the waters, but it’s not a substitute for owning the full game. You also receive in-game rewards and a 10% discount on EA digital purchases.
EA Play Pro, on the other hand, is the VIP pass to the EA gaming world. It provides unlimited access to the Pro Edition of the latest titles as soon as they launch, along with pro-level benefits such as in-game rewards, exclusive player content, and a library of deluxe edition games. This is a huge advantage for FIFA fanatics who want the complete experience from day one, without worrying about time limits or additional purchases.
What Does EA Play Pro Include?
EA Play Pro isn’t just about FIFA. It unlocks a treasure trove of benefits, including:
- Unlimited access to the latest EA titles: Play new games as soon as they drop, without restrictions.
- Pro-level benefits: Enjoy in-game rewards, exclusive player content, and other perks to enhance your gaming experience.
- Deluxe Edition games: Access a library of premium game versions with bonus content and features.
- 10% discount on EA digital purchases: Save money on game downloads, season passes, and DLC.
Why Choose EA Play Pro for FIFA?
If you’re a die-hard FIFA fan who plays frequently, EA Play Pro offers incredible value. Instead of buying each new FIFA game at full price every year, you pay a monthly or annual subscription fee and gain instant access. The Ultimate Edition perks, such as FIFA Points and exclusive player items, are also a major draw for players who are actively engaged with FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT).
Furthermore, the ability to play other EA titles within the EA Play Pro library adds even more value to the subscription. You can explore different genres and franchises without incurring additional costs, making it a great option for gamers with diverse tastes.
Is EA Play Pro Worth It?
The value proposition of EA Play Pro depends on your individual gaming habits and preferences. If you primarily play FIFA and other EA titles, and you value early access and premium content, then it’s likely a worthwhile investment. However, if you only play FIFA occasionally, or if you prefer to purchase games outright during sales, then a standard EA Play subscription or individual game purchases might be more cost-effective.
Consider the cost of a yearly EA Play Pro subscription versus the cost of purchasing a new FIFA game each year, along with any additional DLC or FIFA Points. Also, keep in mind that EA Play Pro is currently only available on PC through the EA app. This is a crucial consideration for console gamers.
FIFA Points and EA Play Pro
One of the significant advantages of EA Play Pro is that it provides FIFA Points with the Ultimate Edition of the game. These points can be used to purchase packs in FIFA Ultimate Team, allowing you to build your dream squad faster. The exact amount of FIFA Points included with EA Play Pro may vary from year to year, but it’s always a substantial bonus for FUT enthusiasts. You should check each specific year for the exact amount, as it does change.
The Future of FIFA: EA Sports FC
As noted in the text, the partnership between EA Sports and FIFA has come to an end. Moving forward, the franchise will be known as EA Sports FC. While the name may have changed, the core gameplay and features that FIFA fans love will remain intact. EA Play Pro subscribers can still expect to receive early access and premium content for future EA Sports FC titles. This means you will be able to keep playing this series when the next game comes out, but under the name EA Sports FC, not FIFA.
