Destiny 2: Dawning 2023

During Destiny 2’s 2023 Dawning event, players have to acquire ingredients to bake tasty goods in Eva’s Holiday Oven to earn rewards

Destiny 2 takes place in a mythical science fiction world in which you can take on the role of a Guardian.

As the protector of Earth’s last safe city, you have to protect humanity from a variety of alien races and fight the looming threat of Darkness.

Dawning 2023

In addition to following the main arc, there are various events, modes and activities that you can enjoy in Destiny 2.

One of the events you can participate in is The Dawning, which  celebrates the winter season and the spirit of giving.

While the event is active, you have to defeat alien races to procure materials. Players are also able to use Eva Levante’s Holiday Oven and combine ingredients to make baked gifts.

The Dawning 2023 event began on Tuesday, 12 December 2023 and it will conclude on Tuesday, 2 January 2023 with the weekly reset.

To participate in this event, you need to have the New Light expansion. If you do have the expansion, you will unlock a milestone which requires that you speak with Eva Levante.

This limited-time non-player character can be found in the Tower Courtyard.

Eva will task you with gathering materials and Dawning Essence by defeating enemies and completing activities.  Once you have enough materials, you can head to Eva’s Holiday Oven to create tasty treats.

Keep in mind that different combinations will create unique items and after baking the treats, you can give them to characters across the system.

Combinations

There are more than 15 tasty treats that you can bake in Eva’s Holiday Oven, but each treat requires specific materials.

How to acquire the ingredients

The above-mentioned ingredients are categorized into uncommon enemy ingredients and rare kill ingredients.

It is important to note that every ingredient can only be obtained by vanquishing a certain enemy or by completing a specific activity.

The following table lists how you can procure the different ingredients:

Uncommon Enemy	Cabal oil: You have to defeat a Cabal in the EDZ, on Nessus or on Neomuna. Chitin Power: Players must defeat a Hive on the Moon, in Savathun’s Throne World or in Cosmodrome. Dark Ether Cane: You can defeat a Scorn in the Dreaming City or in Savathun’s Throne World. Taken Butter: This item can be acquired by vanquishing Taken in the Dreaming City Vex Milk: Players can destroy a Vex on Neomuna, Europa or Nessus.
Rare Kill	Balanced Flavor: This item drops from bow, scout rifle, pulse rifle kills or sniper rifle kills. Bullet Spray: You will receive this item if you destroy an enemy with a heavy machine gun, auto rifle or submachine gun. Dark Frosting: It drops from Stasis ability or weapon kills. Perfect Taste: It randomly drops from precision kills

Upgrades and Bounties

After baking your first tasty treat, you will be able to obtain bounties, upgrades and Event Card Challenges from Eva. She offers 3 different Dawning Bounties and completing them will yield  rich rewards for you.

Upgrades, on the other hand, will provide you with bonus event rewards and it adds the ability to earn Dawning weapons with additional perks from Eva. The upgrades can also increase the power and utility of Stasis snowballs.

Event Card Challenges and Rewards

During the event, you can acquire Event Cards, which are available to all gamers and it can be accessed via the “Quest” tab.

You will receive additional rewards for purchasing Destiny 2‘s Upgraded Event Card, but keep in mind that the rewards can be accessed throughout the event.

Once the event concludes, the Event Card rewards cannot be claimed. If you complete the Event Card Challenges, you will earn rewards, however, you can also open a Gift in Return box to get an array of rewards.
