On a Reddit forum, one player revealed that they acquired a quest in which they had to fish at an Exotic Fish Pond. However, none of the fishing ponds at the 3 locations are considered Exotic Fish Ponds.
This has caused some confusion among players as they are unsure about how to complete the quest.
If you visit each of the 3 fishing ponds, a text will appear near the pond. The text you are looking for is “Fishing Pond (Exotic),” When you find the text, you have to catch fish from that location to complete the quest.
How to catch Exotic Fish
Exotic fish are the most desirable fish in Destiny 2, however, they are extremely rare. Players can increase their odds of catching an exotic fish by taking advantage of the Focused Fishing meter.
This meter fills up more every time you or someone near you catches a legendary or exotic fish.
As the meter fills, the chances of catching a legendary or exotic fish increase. Keep in mind that filling the Focused Fishing meter takes time, especially when the chances of catching a legendary or exotic fish are low.
Do you need bait?
Players can complete the Exotic Fish Pond quest without bait, though bait can increase your chances of catching higher-rarity fish. We therefore recommend that you use bait while completing the Exotic Fish Pond task.
Bait will automatically be used for fishing if you have some in your inventory. Destiny 2 players can earn bait by completing certain activities, including the new Salvage and Deep Dive modes.
However, you can also procure bait from patrols, public events and playlist activities.
