The Navigator is a Strand Exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2, however, it only drops from the final boss in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon.
Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter video game that takes place in a mythic, science fiction world, known as Sol. As a Guardian, you have to complete quests and vanquish enemies.
To help you with your tasks, you have to collect and use weapons. One of the weapons that you can find is the Navigator which only drops from the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon.
Destiny 2: Ghosts of the Deep
To unlock the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon, players must complete the Rise quest, which can be obtained from Hawthorne in the Tower. You can then access the dungeon by opening your H.E.L.M director.
It is noteworthy that the normal version of this dungeon requires a power level of 1790 while the master version recommends a power level of 1840.
Keep in mind that this dungeon is not part of the game’s seasonal content, which means that you have to own a dungeon key to access it.
There are several encounters to complete in this dungeon in order to earn rewards.
Destiny 2: Navigator
Season of the Deep introduced various new weapons, including the new Strand Exotic Trace Rifle known as the Navigator. Players can procure this weapon by completing the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon, though the weapon has a specific drop chance.
This means that you may acquire it during your first run, or you may have to complete the dungeon several times before it drops.
The Navigator’s drop chances are quite low, but there are certain triumphs that you can complete to increase your chances of obtaining it.
Players can complete Deny Death, In Memoriam, Sovereign, Alone in the Dep and King of the Deep to increase their chances. It is noteworthy that the Navigator only drops from the last boss in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon.
Unfortunately, this means that you have to complete the entire dungeon with no guarantee that you will receive the weapon.
Considering that the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon is relatively short, players should not have too much trouble completing the dungeon weekly.

Once you have the weapon, you will notice that it has 2 exotic perks:
Perk name | Description |
Weft Cutter | Dealing sustained damage severs the target |
Protective Weave | Firing this weapon at an ally rants Woven Mail to the user and to the target |
It is too early to gauge how strong the Trace rifle is but thus far, the first impressions of the weapon are extremely good. In fact, it is so good that several players think that the Navigator may be bugged.
This weapon is rising rapidly to the top of the player-versus-environment meta, however, only time will tell whether it will stay there.
Increasing your Navigator drop rate
The base drop rate for the Navigator is approximately 5 percent, but you can increase your chances by completing the following triumphs:
Triumph name | Description |
In Memoriam | Players have to find and listen to every memory of Darkness throughout the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon. |
Sovereign | Guardians have to complete the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon on Master difficulty. |
King of the Deep | You have to complete all encounters in the dungeon solo without dying or leaving the activity. |
Alone in the Deep | Complete all encounters in the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon solo without leaving the activity. |
Deny Death | Players must complete all encounters in the dungeon without dying or leaving the activity. |
Navigator Catalyst
The Navigator Exotic Catalyst provides the weapon with an alternate fire mode that spawns a Grapple Point at the target location. This makes it excellent for any Threadrunner Hunter Builds that involves your grapple.
To procure the Catalyst, players have to activate the 3 Hive Statues by bringing Vestiges of Light from clumps of dead Ghosts. Upon activating a statue, you will face Lightbearer Acolyte.
Dealing enough damage forces them to retreat, which means that you have to find the next statue.
After activating the third statue, you have to deposit your Vestige to summon Thul-Ar. Players must repeat the symbol-matching process to bring him down.
Can you farm the Navigator?
Theoretically speaking, Destiny 2 players can farm the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon indefinitely. You can therefore complete the dungeon several times a week on the same character and receive rewards every time you complete an encounter.
Unfortunately, this only applies to Legendary weapons and gear pieces. Since the Navigator is an Exotic weapon, you only get 1 chance to collect it per week, per character.
