The Nightmare Echo of Varshan is an upgraded version of the Diablo 4 boss, Varshan of the Consumed, and you need specific consumables to summon it.
A new form of Lilith’s corruption has spread throughout Sanctuary in this adventurous video game, Diablo 4.
Season 1, which began on Thursday, 20 July 2023, introduced several new gear pieces to the game and a new storyline. As you progress through the main arc, you will be required to defeat the Nightmare Echo of Varshan.
Echo of Varshan
Season 1 introduced the Varshan boss to the game, though players who want to test their abilities can attempt to defeat the Echo of Varshan. Not only is the Echo version more difficult, but it also drops some tantalizing rewards to earn.
Keep in mind that players cannot simply visit a specific location in Diablo 4 to slay this enemy. There are certain items that you have to craft and the recipe, as well as the ingredients, can only be obtained by vanquishing another enemy.
In addition to collecting all the items required to summon the enemy, your character has to meet certain requirements to be able to defeat the monster.
Diablo 4: Nightmare Echo of Varshan
It is clear that Varshan of the Consumed is the base boss that players have to destroy during the seasonal storyline.
If you want to put your character to the test, you can face the Echo of Varshan, but players who defeated the Echo with ease can attempt to slay Nightmare Echo of Varshan.
Nightmare Echo of Varshan is an upgraded version of the boss, Varshan of the Consumed. If you defeat this boss, you will be rewarded with the maximum quantity of items. To begin the fight, you have to acquire an Invoker of Varshan.
Players will receive this item if they complete season 1’s questline, but you also have to fulfill all the objectives and be in World Tier 3.
We recommend that you upgrade your character’s inventory and skill trees for maximum survival before you begin the fight.
To begin the fight, visit Cormond’s Workbench in the center of Kyovashad. Keep in mind that you have to collect all the material costs for the Invoker of Varshan. If you are missing some ingredients, you can collect them in the Malignant Tunnels.
Once you have the item, go to the World Tier Statue and select the third World Tier. Players then have to visit the Malignant Tunnel, Ravening Pit.
After slaying the enemies in the tunnel, you have to go towards the Healing Well, where you have to use certain abilities, namely, crowd control and dispatch, but remember to dispatch the summon ability.
After destroying the enemy, players will receive rich rewards for their efforts.
Invoker of Varshan ingredients
Before slaying the Nightmare Echo of Varshan, you have to craft the consumable Invoker of Varshan. Diablo 4 players can get the recipe for the consumable by defeating Varshan of the Consumed during the seasonal storyline.
After obtaining the recipe, you need to procure the following items to craft the item:
- Demon Heart
- Vicious Malignant Invoker
- Devious Malignant Invoker
- Brutal Malignant Invoker
Foul Invoker of Varshan
It is worth noting that the Foul Invoker of Varshan is quite similar to the Invoker of Varshan, though it allows you to vanquish the Echo of Varshan on World Tier 3.
To unlock this item, you have to slay the Echo of Vashan on a lower world Tier by consuming the Invoker of Varshan.
To craft the Foul Invoker of Varshan, you need a standard Invoker of Varshan and 50 Sigil Powder, which can be earned by dismantling Nightmare Sigils.
You can then take the Foul Invoker of Varshan to the end of a Malignant Tunnel to challenge the Echo of Varshan World Tier 3.
Patterns
During the fight, the boss will perform the attacks and abilities outlined below:

| Tendril Swipe | The boss uses its tendrils to strike horizontally 3 times. In World Tier 3, this attack launches projectiles in a cone which extends its reach. |
| Tendril Stab | Varshan stabs directly in front using its tendrils. In World Tier 3, this attack will track your character and it launches projectiles. |
| Tendril Lunge | Using its tendrils to pull itself, the boss lunges and strikes at you. This attack deals more damage in World Tier 3. |
| Explosive Decay | The boss marks the ground and decays it with an explosion. In World Tier 3, this attack is more aggressive, as it explodes quicker and has a bigger AoE. |
