A recent Diablo Immortal update introduced Eternal Gear, however, players believe that it is not worth farming and that the drop rate is too low.
Diablo Immortal recently received a major update that introduced a lot of new content and activities for gamers to enjoy.
According to the patch notes, players can now progress through the Age of Unmaking’s activities, which includes Terror Rifts, Oblivion Pillars and Hellslayer Bounties.
If you complete these activities, there is a chance that you could obtain Eternal Gear, which is considered the rarest and most coveted equipment in all of Sanctuary.
Terror Rifts are essentially spiked gateways through which Diablo’s forces launch their assault.
Since the Rifts spawn in random zones, it can be difficult to locate the Terror Rift Portal. Fortunately, you can use the world map to check which zones the Rifts are active in.
Once you have gone through the portal, you have to slay vicious monsters to earn Stygian Fragments.
Players can sacrifice their Fragments to summon a boss, which, when defeated, will drop a reward chest. There is a chance that you could earn Eternal Gear by opening the chest.
If you are not interested in completing Terror Rifts, you can complete Oblivion Pillars and Hellslayer Bounties to farm Eternal Gear.

It is noteworthy that Eternal Gear pieces contain 3 Attributes and 4 Magic Affixes. It is worth noting that 2 of the Magic Affixes will be randomly selected from the existing pool of Affixes, while the other 2 are from a new pool of Class-specific Affixes.
Players can obtain an item of any Primary Slot and that can contain Cursed or Ancestral Properties.
Affixes
The update introduced a new pool which comprises 56 new Affixes These Affixes can also be found on items with 1-3 Magic Affixes that drop from Terror Rifts, Oblivion Pillars and Hellslayer Bounties.
The following table lists some of the new Affixes that you can enjoy:
Class | Affixes |
Barbarian |
|
Blood Knight |
|
Crusader |
|
Demon Hunter |
|
Monk |
|
Necromancer |
|
Wizard |

Oblivion Pillars
To activate an Oblivion Pillar, you need to play Diablo Immortal on Inferno Difficulty 1 or higher, however, you also need a Terror Essence.
These Pillars can be found where Terror Rifts spawn in every zone and are accessible at any time.
After activating an Oblivion Pillar, you have to survive waves of powerful demons until the timer depletes.
If you successfully complete the activity, there is a chance that you could obtain Eternal Equipment and other rewards.
It is worth noting that only experienced adventurers equipped for pulse-puding combat will be able to survive this test of might.
Hellslayer Bounties
Another way to procure Eternal Gear is by completing Hellslayer Bounties. Groups or solo players on Inferno Difficulty I or higher can combine their 4 normal, active Bounties to create a Hellslayer Bounty.
Keep in mind that this process requires a Terror Essence though. Hellslayer Bounties are 4 times more valuable than a normal Bounty, however, this does not come without risk.
Players can expect increased life drain and other effects as they complete the task. Once you have obtained your Hellslayer Bounties, you can travel to the zone listed on your Bounty to locate the Hellslayer Bounty Portal.
After going through the Portal, you have to fight vicious hordes to complete the activity. If you successfully complete this activity, you will receive the Codex Credit for 4 normal Bounties and a reward chest, which may contain Eternal Gear.
Players’ opinions
Since the release of Eternal Gear, Diablo Immortal players have shared their opinions on various platforms.
On the official Diablo Immortal Discord server, a player named Hellrock mentioned that farming Eternal Gear is a waste of time. This is most likely because Eternal Gear’s drop rate is extremely low.
On the official Blizzard Forum, a player named Kilometer mentioned that Eternal Gear’s drop rate should be increased to 100%.
She mentioned that players update their gear regularly as they gradually obtain better gear, but since the drop rate for Eternal Gear is so low, players will never have the chance to wear the gear.
She said, “It makes no sense that Eternal Gear has a terrible drop rate as by the time you earned the desired super rolled Eternal Gear, the random Legendary you found may be better than the Eternal Gear as your character’s Paragon increased.”
Diablo Immortal players are hoping that Blizzard will increase Eternal Gear’s drop rate and statistics to make farming the gear worth it.
