A recent Diablo Immortal update revealed that 8 pets will be introduced in the game on Thursday, 14 December 2023
Diablo Immortal is an adventurous video game that takes place between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III.
It is up to you to locate and destroy the hidden shards of the Worldstone in order to prevent the Lord of Damnation from destroying the world of Sanctuary.
Pets Update
In November 2023 Diablo Immortal’s developer, Blizzard revealed that something familiar is coming to the game.
Since then Blizzard has announced that familiars, which are also referred to as pets, will be introduced to the game in December 2023.
On Wednesday, 6 December 2023, Blizzard revealed that the sixth major update for the game will be released on Thursday, 14 December 2023.
According to the announcement, the rumors about the familiars are all true, which means that you can now forge a lifelong bond with one of Sanctuary’s hidden wonders.
Pets are companions that can aid you in combat by using a combination of Active and Passive skills. These skills can damage enemies or provide bonuses to your character.
However, some of the familiars can also help you outside of combat if they possess certain traits. They can identify items for you or salvage specific items, which allows you to spend more time farming.
How many familiars will be implemented in Diablo Immortal?
Blizzard revealed that they will only be implementing 8 Familiars on Thursday, 14 December 2023. However taking into account the game’s predecessors, Blizzard will likely release additional Familiars in the future.
Unfortunately it is unknown when the additional Familiars will be released, and it is also unknown what abilities these Familiars will possess.
We therefore recommend that you keep an eye on the official Diablo Immortal website and social media platforms for further updates.
Known Familiars
The announcement only revealed 5 of the 8 Familiars that will be implemented in Diablo Immortal on Thursday, 14 December 2023.
Some of the Familiars that you will be able to acquire once the update is implemented are:
1. Skitterwight: Winged Trickster
The Skitterwight crosses over to Sanctuary to hatch its young, usually near the outskirts of human settlements. The larva lures unsuspecting villagers to mistake them for abandoned children and care for them accordingly.
2. Myrrjen: Tideweaver
These Familars are often blamed for all manner of nautical problems, ranging from broken anchors to poor weather. Tideweavers are known for inhabiting the depths of Sanctuary’s oceans.
3. Varog: Watchers of the Forest
They are tree-dwelling spirits that watch over travelers who pass through their forests.
4. Duskprowler: Avatar of Mischief
Several cultures in Sanctuary tell tales of feral cat spirits lurking in the shadows while others believe they ward off evil spirits.
How to acquire a Familiar
Regrettably, the announcement did not reveal how Diablo Immortal players will be able to add Familars to their collection.
However you allegedly have to complete a quest, or meet certain requirements in order to unlock the Familiars. Players have to wait for the next announcement for further details about the pets.
