Diablo Immortal: Starfire Shards

Diablo Immortal’s latest update introduced 3 new Legendary Gems for players to use, one of which is the 5-star Starfire Shard.

Players have to collect shattered fragments of the corrupted Worldstone in this exhilarating video game, Diablo Immortal.

Blizzard, the game’s developer, recently announced that Diablo Immortal is getting major update, which will introduce several new features to the game, such as Starfire Shards.

Diablo Immortal: Starfire Shards

In order to get the most out of your equipment, you must slot the best Legendary Gems into their sockets. Legendary Gems are incredibly powerful, transferable buffs which provide your character with massive bonuses.

On Tuesday, 13 June 2023, Blizzard revealed that players can now procure the 5-star gem, Starfire Shard.

When you deal damage with this gem slotted, there is a 30 percent chance that you will rain meteorites in the area, which deals 500 percent base damage and 2026 in total.

However, this feature can only occur once every 20 seconds. The meteorites also scratch the ground for 2 seconds, which burns foes in the area and deals 40 percent damage every second.

Although any character class can use this Legendary Gem, it synergizes perfectly with the Wizard class, especially if you are using Meteor as part of your ability rotation.

How to acquire the Starfire Shard

In order to procure the Starfire Shard gem, players must complete Elder Rifts, which are instances of mini-dungeons that you have to complete in a very short period of time.

You have to slay monsters to fill a progress bar; and once it is filled, a Rift Guardian will spawn.

If you complete Elder Rifts, you can earn the materials needed to craft some Legendary Gems, with the possibility that a Legendary Gem will drop.

However, we recommend that you prioritize the Starfire Shard in the Elder Rift menu before commencing the activity.

Starfire Shard Gem animation effect

Redditor WinterSignature2180 claims that every time he fights an enemy with the Starfire Shard equipped, he experiences lag and rubberbanding, which results in losing the battle.

He believes that the Starfire Shard animation causes his gameplay to lag and the rubberbanding. However several players mentioned that they have also experienced lag since the update was implemented.

It is therefore undetermined if the lag is caused by the Starfire Shard Gem, so players should proceed with caution when they use the Gem.

New Gems

In addition to the Starfire Shard, Diablo Immortal players can enjoy other new Gems, such as:

Gem name Description
Exigent Echo (1-star Gem) Your block chance is increased by 30 percent for 6 seconds when you receive a Critical Hit. Though it can only occur once every 20 seconds. During the effect, the damage that you receive while blocking is reduced by 12 percent.
Ironbane (2-star Gem) There is a 10 percent chance that your Channeling skills can dissolve an enemy’s armor for 6 seconds and it increases the damage they take by 15 percent.
