Diablo Immortal: Vigil of Blades

A recent Diablo Immortal update introduced the Vigil of Blades activity, which is an 8-versus-8 battle between the best Shadow Clans and the Immortals.

In Diablo Immortal, you can battle ancient monsters and uncover the untold of what took place between Diablo II and Diablo III.

The game’s developer, Blizzard, recently released a huge update, which introduced the Vigil of Blades.

Vigil of Blades

The Dark Rebirth in Tristram Cathedral update was released on Tuesday, 19 September 2023, and it introduced a range of new features to Diablo Immortal.

Players can now enjoy the Tristram Cathedral Dungeon as well as the Alley of Blood. You can also acquire 3 new Legendary Gems and participate in various events.

The update also introduced the Vigil of Blades, which is an 8-versus-8 battle between the best Shadow Clans and the Immortals in the one-lane Alley of Blood player-versus-player mode.

Keep in mind that this battle takes place after the Shadow War concludes and before Rite of Exile begins. When this battle is active, you have to bring everything you have and not relent.

The faction that wins 2 out of 3 matches will walk away with a bonus to their damage and health for fighting in the Rite of Exile.

Players should note that the Vigil of Blades will only occur in the first 3 weeks of a new Immortal faction reign.

The update also introduced 2 new methods which allow everyone to be involved in the new feature, namely the Prediction system and Spectator mode.

Prediction system and Spectator mode

Unfortunately, only a few selected players will be able to participate in the Vigil of Blades activity, though Blizzard has revealed that everyone can enjoy the event even if they are not participating in the battle.

The following table lists the ways that you can enjoy the Vigil of Blades:

Category Description
Prediction system In the “Cycle of Strife” tab in the Faction menu, you can view the status of conflict between Shadows and Immortals. Players will also be able to cast their prediction for who will win the battle. Any player who casts a prediction will earn rewards.
Spectator mode If you are not participating in the Vigil of Blades battle, you can still enjoy the event by entering Spectator Mode. This mode enables all players to watch the battle in real time.

Rewards

As mentioned, the faction that wins 2 out of 3 matches will walk away with a bonus to their damage and health for fighting in the Rite of Exile.

However, players who are not competing in the battle can still # earn rewards by making a prediction of who will win the battle.

Players who predict correctly will receive a bonus reward, but unfortunately, the exact rewards and bonus rewards for predicting the outcome of the Vigil of Blades are currently unknown.

We recommend that you make your prediction on who will win the battle to get unique rewards.

Do you have to participate in Vigil of Blades?

Although Diablo Immortal allows you to enjoy both player-versus-environment and player-versus-player, several players prefer to simply focus on PvE.

It is therefore crucial to note that you do not need to participate in the Vigil of Blades PvP activity if you are uninterested in vanquishing other players.

The Vigil of Blades will not influence your progress in Diablo Immortal, however, you may miss out on rewards if you do not participate in the activity. Fortunately, you do not have to actually vanquish other players to earn rewards.

You can earn rewards by simply making a prediction about who will win the Vigil of Blades. If you are not interested in PvP, we recommend that you make the prediction for the rewards.

Alley of Blood

Vigil of Blades is essentially a part of Alley of Blood, which was also introduced with the Dark Rebirth in Tristram Cathedral update.

Alley of Blood is a new team-based, single-lane PvP activity which changes how Shadow Clans prove themselves in the Shadow War and how they clash against Immortals for bonuses in the new Vigil of Blades component.

In Alley of Blood, teams will battle over hallowed ground, endeavoring to overpower the opposing team by demolishing their Sentry Towers. You essentially have to destroy the enemy’s Crystal Heart to win the battle.

In the case where both teams are evenly matched and neither Crystal Heart is destroyed, the winner will be decided by the team which has more remaining structures and better overall team performance.
