There are countless activities and events that you can enjoy in Diablo Immortal, but it is advisable that you primarily focus on completing the main story arc quests.
One of these events is The Voidwound Cage Wilderness Exploration Task, which serves as a pre-patch exploration activity.
What is the objective of an in-game event?
In-game events enable players to experience a video game in a new, exciting way for a certain duration of time. During an event, you have to search for specific items, complete allocated tasks, or participate in an activity to earn valuable rewards.
Sometimes, the rewards that you claim during an event can only be acquired from that specific event. If you do not participate in the event, you will not be able to acquire the rewards. So events essentially motivate players to play a game that they may have been neglecting before.
In-game events can have themes that correspond to real-life events, such as Thanksgiving or Halloween. Or in Diablo Immortal’s case, Blizzard creates their own themes that fit with the game’s storyline.
Diablo Immortal: Voidwound Cage
In The Voidwound Cage Wilderness Exploration Task, huge chunks of crimson slag have mysteriously fallen into the realm of Sanctuary. They are etched with ancient runic inscriptions that insinuate that something evil is awakening from its slumber.
In order to begin this exploration task, players have to find one of the slag crash sites and find the pieces to discover once-forbidden information.
In order to be successful in The Voidwound Cage event, you have to find and activate crimson slags, which are scattered around Sanctuary. Players can allegedly find them in the following locations:

In addition to finding the crimson slag locations, you can participate in the Exalted Night event. By logging in on 8 December 2022 and 10 December 2022, players will get access to exploratory tasks.
If you complete these tasks, you will be rewarded with items that will aid you in your upcoming voyage.
The next major Diablo Immortal update will take place on 14 December, and it will allow you to continue to battle evil by completing additional tasks in exchange for useful rewards.
Rewards for finding the crimson slags
For completing The Voidwound Cage tasks, players will receive 1200 Hilts, which is a form of valuable currency. Players can use Hilts to purchase endgame crests and crafting materials.
It is recommended that you use your Hilts to purchase the legendary crest once a month. By purchasing this crest, you are guaranteed to procure a Legendary Gem from Elden Rifts.
You should not waste your Hilts on scrap materials or other easily-farmed materials, even if it is tempting.
Crimson Slag bug
Some Diablo Immortal players claimed that they are experiencing a crimson slag bug. This occurs when you find a crimson slag and after interacting with it, the map disappears. This makes it difficult for players to locate the rest of the crimson slags, as they are indicated on the map.
If you are experiencing this bug, it is advised that you log a ticket with the game’s developer, Blizzard, so that they can have the issue resolved.
What to expect from the major update
The following major update for Diablo Immortal will be released on 14 December 2022. The update will allegedly reset your existing Hero’s Journey chapter, and new chapters will instantly become available for you to complete.
If you have yet to complete your Hero’s Journey, do not fret, as any unclaimed rewards from previous chapters will be sent to your in-game mail.
Although you do not have a lot of time left to complete the Hero’s Journey, it is recommended that you at least attempt to complete it, as it features a lot of the game’s lore.
