Although you can advance in Evony: The King’s Return without using Dragons, they will provide your fleet with unique buffs and bonuses.
When you reach a certain level in Evony: The King’s Return, you will be able to collect Dragons and keep them in your Pasture or in the Dragon Cliff. Dragons function similar to Spiritual Beasts as they can also be assigned to your Generals.
Since the release of Dragons in the game, several players have inquired about whether or not they are worth obtaining and using.
Although some Monarchs in the game do not use Dragons, we recommend that you do use them as you will receive numerous buffs and bonuses which will have a great effect on the outcome of the battle.
It is worth noting that every Dragon in Evony will provide your Generals with unique buffs and bonuses.
Players can use the description of the buff that the Dragons provide as a guideline to know to which General they should assign the Dragon to.
For example, The Celtic Demon Dragon’s buffs are focused on improving Ranged Troops and Ground Troops. Thus, you should assign the Celtic Demon Dragon to a Ranged player-versus-player General or a Ground player-versus-player General.
The Fafnir, on the other hand, is best used with Mounted player-versus-player Generals or with a Siege player-versus-player as its buffs focus on improving mounted troops and siege machines.
How to procure Dragons
Every Dragon can be obtained in a unique way. The following table lists how you can procure some of the Dragons:

| Celtic Demon | Players can procure this dragon when their Pastures reaches level 26. However, you need to pay approximately 300 000 gems. |
| Jawzahr | You can redeem 180 Dragon Gemstones during the Dragon Treasures event, which costs approximately $300 to obtain. |
| Fafnir | Monarchs can collect this Dragon for 1400 Dragon Crystals when their Pastures reach level 30. |
Leveling up a Dragon
Once you have a Dragon, you have to increase its level to enhance its abilities. Players essentially have to feed their dragons to increase their experience. When you have fed your Dragon enough, it will reach the next level.
You can feed your Dragons Excellent Dragon Coins, Bright Dragon Coins, Resources, Gems and Gold to increase their levels.
We recommend that players wait until a Dragon Feeding event is active as you will get an abundance of rewards for feeding your Dragons.
Which Dragons should you assign to your Generals?
As previously mentioned, every Dragon will provide your Generals with unique buffs and bonuses. It is therefore imperative that you assign the correct Dragon to your Generals:
