To cancel an upgrade in Evony, you simply have to click on the building that you are upgrading and select the big, red, “X” icon.
In order to progress in Evony: The King’s Return, you have to upgrade the buildings within your keep as well as your farms, quarries, sawmills and mines on a regular basis.
Keep in mind, however, that the higher the level of the building is, the more resources and time are required to complete the upgrade.
Fortunately, players can use speed-up items to decrease the amount of time it takes to upgrade the building to the following level.
However, several players mentioned that they have started an upgrade on the wrong building, which essentially wastes time and resources.
If you accidently choose to upgrade the wrong building or resource node, do not fret, as you can cancel an upgrade at any time.
To cancel an upgrade, you simply have to select the resource tile or building that you accidentally upgraded to open the pop-up menu.
In the new menu, you will see a red “X” icon and if you click on it, you can cancel the upgrade. Keep in mind, however, that if you cancel an upgrade, you will lose half of the resources you spent on upgrading.
We therefore recommend that you carefully consider which buildings and resource nodes you want to upgrade.
Upgrade requirements
To upgrade a building or a resource node in Evony, you have to meet specific requirements. It is worth noting that every building’s requirement differs as it is based on your current level.
For instance, if you want to upgrade your Hospital to level 15, your Keep has to be at level 15, and you need 600 000 food and lumber.
Monarchs also need 620 000 Stone and 610 000 Ore to upgrade their buildings. To view the requirements, you simply have to click on the building that you want to upgrade and select the “Upgrade” option.
Speed-ups
The higher your level becomes in Evony, the longer your upgrades will take to complete. For example, to upgrade a level 13 Sawmill to level 14 takes approximately 15 hours and 46 minutes.
However, you can use speed-ups to decrease the amount of time it takes to complete the upgrade.
If you click on the building you are currently upgrading, you will be able to finish the upgrade instantly or simply use a speed-up.
There is a big chance that you will have different types of speed-ups in your inventory, but if you do not have any, you can purchase the item from the in-game store.
Do you have to perform upgrades?
Players should remember that upgrading buildings and resource tiles is one of the most important ways to progressing in the game.
If you decide not to upgrade any building, you will not be able to advance your empire. We therefore recommend that you upgrade your buildings and resource tiles regularly.
