Although Petronas can be used for anything in Evony: The King’s Return, it is advisable that you use him for Siege Machine and Ranged Troops attacks.
Evony: The King’s Return is a thrilling mobile game that invites gamers to assume the role of a lady or a lord in the medieval era.
You have to build an empire from scratch while collecting Generals. One of the Generals that you can acquire is Petronas.
Are Generals important?
Generals may seem insignificant in Evony, but they are vital. Players use Generals in everything that they do, including harvesting resources, fighting, crafting, researching, and constructing.
There are various Generals which are divided into different categories. A General’s category is determined by their rarity, and whether they are Historic or Non-Historic Generals. The rarer a General is, the better they are.
You should note that every General has a specific task in Evony. Some Generals excel when they lead armies to collect resources, while others defend your keep.
Evony: Petronas
Petronas was “A notable Byzantine General in the mid-9th century who scored a crushing victory against the Arabs.” He is now a quality option as a Siege General. Once he is fully developed, Petronas has one of the highest Siege Machine attacks in the game.
Unfortunately, 30 percent of this attack buff comes from his final speciality, which requires a large number of resources to attain. Petronas can also be useful in a mixed march. His skills and specialities also apply buffs to ranged troops.
As such, for players using both of these troop types, he can be a great option. Petronas can be ascended for further siege buffs, but keep in mind that players might struggle to get him.
Petronas’ special skill is always active and requires no deployment. Byzantine Commander increases Siege Machines’ attack by 40 percent and increases Ranged Troops and Siege Machines’ defences by 20 percent when he is leading the army to attack.
In addition to his special skill, Petronas has various skills which are unlocked when he reaches level 25. These skills can be expensive to develop as they require Gems and Runestones. Petronas’ skills are:
Skill | Description |
Siege Machine Ares |
|
Battle of Lalakaon |
|
Bash |
|
Siege Machine Assault |

Petronas’ statistics
Similarly to other Generals in Evony, Petronas has many statistics that have an effect on certain aspects of the game. If you are planning to use Petronas as part of your combat strategy, you should increase his level as quickly as possible.
By increasing his level, you increase his statistics, which makes him a better General. Petronas’ base and growth statistics are as follows:
