There are 3 Dread Beasts that you can encounter in FFXIV new dungeon, Eureka Orthos, however they are stronger than normal enemies.
Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) is an explorative video game that allows players to create and control a virtual character.
There are several activities that you can enjoy in FFXIV, such as the dungeon, Eureka Orthos. While you are progressing in the dungeon, you may encounter Dread Beasts.
FFXIV: Dread Beasts
Eureka Orthos blocks your path with a unique boss every 10 levels, however, you may still come across powerful mobs while you are advancing through the levels.
One of the enemies in the dungeon is Dread Beasts, which are much stronger than the average monster inside the dungeon.
If you find one, we recommend that you try to vanquish it. This is because every time you defeat a Dread Beast, your character will receive a buff. Dread Beasts can be easily identified as they have a bright, red glow that surrounds them.
It is worth noting that these enemies are incredibly strong and can kill your character in one hit. For this reason, most players will avoid them at all costs. If you want to take a risk with a high reward, there is a way to defeat them.
Different Dread Beasts
There are 3 unique Dread Beasts,, namely a Lamia, which has a ranged flame attack. If you defeat the Lamia, you will receive a 30-minute regeneration buff.
You can also find the Meracydian Beast, whose main skill is Berserk and you will receive a damage buff if you defeat this enemy,.
The last Dread Beast is the Cochma, who can deal a lot of damage in a single hit. If you defeat this enemy, you will receive a strong defence buff.
Every time you successfully defeat a Dread Beast, you will receive a treasure coffer containing valuable items.
Defeating a Dread Beast
Most players assume that the Dread Palms, which will turn your character into a Dreadnought, is the best way to defeat a Dread Beast.
However, it does not work when it comes to one-shotting them. Instead, it is advisable that you use landmines and exploding silver chests as they deal a lot of damage to enemies, including Dread Beasts.
That being said, the Lethargy Protomander can make the fight against a Dread Beast easier. If you use this item, you will need a clone to deal damage as well as a healer, or healing abilities, to ensure that you survive the fight.
How to unlock Eureka Orthos
To unlock the dungeon, you need to complete the main FFXIV Endwalker quest and complete level 50 of the Palace of the Dead.
Moreover, you need to have at least one Disciple of Magic or War at level 81. If you meet these requirements, you can talk to Koh Rabntah in Mor Dhona to start the quest.
