In order to unlock fishing, players need to be on Adventure rank 30 or higher, as this is the requirement to travel to Inazuma. Players also need to have the Serenitea Pot housing system unlocked.
If players meet these requirements, they can pick up the Exploding Population quest. The quest will show players the basics of fishing.
Once players have completed the quest, they are able to fish in any of the fishing locations. Schools of fish can appear in any body of water, so players should remember to look for fish when they are out exploring.
It is also recommended that once a player discovers a school of fish, they mark it on the map. This way, they can always return to the location.
To make it easier, Genshin Impact identified certain fishing spots. Players can head to the docks of the first island in Inazuma to catch a variety of fish. The second fishing spot located in Inazuma is near the Violet Court Domain.
Additionally, players can go to the broken bridge at the entrance of Mingyun Village in Liyue. Tianqiu Valley, located right at the West of the Teleport Waypoint, is also a popular fishing spot.
Even though fish can appear in any body of water, there are certain fish that can only be caught in one location. The Snowstrider fish only spawns in the lake north of Starglow Cavern.
Abiding Angefish can only be found in the lake on Mount Aoxang, and the Raimei Angelfish can be caught near the shipwreck east of Tatarasuna. It is important to note that the latter only appears between 18:00 and 06:00.
