The largest ball in Quidditch is the Quaffle, but it is noteworthy that gamers cannot play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy is an action role-playing video game that takes place in the Wizarding World universe. In the game, you can control a witch or wizard to embark on adventures.
One of the activities that you can enjoy is Quidditch. However, many players want to know what the largest ball in Quidditch is.
Quidditch
Quidditch is a fictional sport invented by author, J.K. Rowling, for her fantasy Harry Potter novels. This dangerous sport is extremely popular as it is played by witches and wizards flying on broomsticks.
Matches are played on a large oval pitch with 3 ring-shaped goals of varying heights on each side.
A Quidditch team comprises 3 Chasers, 2 Beaters, a Keeper, and a Seeker. The Chasers and the Keeper score and defend the goals, respectively.
The 2 Beaters have to ensure to bat the balls away from their teammates while the Seeker locates and catches the Golden Snitch. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins the game.
Hogwarts Legacy: What ball in Quidditch is the largest?
Unfortunately, you will not get the opportunity to play Quidditch while you are advancing in Hogwarts Legacy. Quidditch has allegedly been cancelled due to an accident that took place the previous year.
In the Harry Potter books ,there are 5 balls in a Quidditch match, each with a unique objective. Many players are curious about what the largest ball is in a Quidditch match.
The balls are ranked from the biggest to smallest below:
Ball | Description |
The Quaffle | The Chasers throw a twelve-inch, red leather-covered ball, which is known as the Quaffle, to one another. The objective is to get the ball through one of the opposing team’s hoops. Getting the Quaffle through the hoop scores 10 points. |
The Buldgers | Beats have to use their small clubs to beat away the hard, black Buldgers. These balls are enacted to knock players off their brooms. |
The Snitch | The Seeker, who is generally the smallest and fastest player on the team, flies all over the pitch to find the Golden Snitch. |
According to the table, the Quaffle is the largest ball in a Quidditch match. It is believed that its size makes it easier to throw through the opponent’s hoops. If the ball was smaller, the Chasers would likely have had a difficult time attempting to score points.
Moreover, Keepers have to prevent the Quaffle from going through the hoops, therefore, the ball’s size makes it easier to prevent the other team from scoring points.
Why can players not enjoy Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy?
Many Harry Potter fans were disappointed by the fact that they cannot enjoy Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy.
During the Sorting Hat Ceremony, Professor Phineas Nigellus Black announced the cancellation of Quidditch, only stating at the time that there was a Quidditch-related injury in the spring final of the previous year.
You will only learn later that the student was hardly injured at all. Instead, they are pure-blood and a nurse believes that Black cancelled Quidditch for this reason and that perhaps he feels offended that they were harmed.
However, the real reason why Quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy has to do with the decision for it to be omitted from gameplay. This gives the game a narratively viable excuse for why it is cancelled in the game.
Will Quidditch be available in the future?
At the time of writing this, it is unknown whether Quidditch will be available in Hogwarts Legacy in the future or not. However, some players hope that the developer, Avalanche Software, will add Quidditch in the form of downloadable-content (DLC).
There are several Harry Potter features that are not part of Hogwarts Legacy. Players thus expect that Wizard’s Chests, Gobstones, and Quidditch will be added to the game in the future. However, it is very likely that you will have to purchase these DLCs.
How do you win a Quidditch match?
If a Quidditch DLC gets released in the future, you will need to know how to win a match. The game begins when the referee releases the four balls in the game. Every goal with the Quaffle is worth 10 points, but the game has no time limit.
The game only concludes when one team’s Seeker catches the Golden Snitch. This awards the team with 150 points, which is generally enough to win the game. However, it is possible that catching the Snitch will not guarantee a win.
According to Harry Potter lore, Viktor Krum caught the Snitch, which awarded the Bulgarian team 150 points.
However, the Irish team was so good that they scored enough points for it to not make a difference. Despite the fact that Krum caught the snitch, the Irish team still won the match.
