Players can acquire character shards, ability materials, and teal gear pieces from the Red Envelope Store in MSF.
Marvel Strike Force (MSF) invites players to step into the famous Marvel Universe to protect it from horrific foes. In addition to collecting heroes, you can participate in in-game events, enjoy several gaming modes, and meet new friends.
While progressing in MSF, you will discover unique currencies, one of which is Red Envelopes, which can be used in the Red Envelope store and features rare items.
What is an in-game store?
In an in-game store players can purchase items which can be used for gameplay. Some items in the in-game store can only be purchased with specific currencies, while other items can only be purchased with real-life money.
It is noteworthy that some in-game stores are connected to in-game events. Once the event commences, the store will launch. However, the store will disappear from the game when the in-game event concludes.
In order to purchase items from an event store, you have to participate in the in-game event to get a unique currency.
MSF: Red Envelope store
On Thursday, 19 January 2023, MSF released The Masters of Evil. The announcement revealed several new features, including several new events, new characters, milestone events, an event store, and a new season of Mojo’s Mayhem, among other things.
The event store invites players to spend campaign energy. It is one of the most important free resources in the game and it refills automatically over time.
However, you can claim campaign energy up to 3 times a day. Players should ensure that they do not miss the free claim bonus.
If you spend campaign energy, you will earn a limited-time event currency called Red Envelopes. Once you have Red Envelopes, you can head to the limited-time event store to purchase rare items.
You can purchase Teal Unique Gear Pieces, Young Avenger, A-Force, and Inhuman character shards as well as Tier-2 and Tier-3 Ability Materials.
Allegedly, the character shards that you can purchase in the event store are unique for each player. One MSF player revealed that he can purchase character shards for Spider Woman, Captain Marvel, and Miles Morales.
While another player stated that he can purchase character shards for Nico Minoru, Ms. Marvel and Echo. It is vital to note that 15 character shards for 1 character cost approximately 975 Red Envelopes.
If you are interested in procuring another character’s shards, you have to acquire additional Red Envelopes by spending campaign energy.
Some players do not have character shards in the store at all. Instead, they have unique Teal Gear pieces.
Red Envelope Store bug
Scopely, MSF’s developer, recently announced that they are aware that the Red Envelope Store does not have supplies.
The store allegedly refreshes at 16:00 Pacific Time daily, which means that the items in the store will reset. If you purchase all the items in the store before it resets, the store will not have supplies.
You then have to wait for the store reset to be able to access to other items. However, you can force-refresh the store by spending Power Cores. Power Cores is MSF’s premium currency, which means that players can purchase it with real money.
However, there are several in-game methods that you can use to acquire Power Cores.
What are Ability Materials?
MSF players can purchase tier-2 and tier-3 ability materials from the Red Envelope Store. A character’s abilities can be levelled up using Ability Materials, but their first three abilities, basic, special, and ultimate, can only be increased to level 7.
Furthermore, a character’s passive ability can only be increased to level 5. The following table provides the requirements for each ability level:
Ability | Level | Material required |
Basic | 4 | Tier-2 |
Basic | 5 | Tier-2 |
Basic | 6 | Tier-3 |
Special | 3 | Tier-2 |
Special | 4 | Tier-2 |
