MSF: Unavoidable attacks

There are more than 40 characters in MSF, and some of them have unavoidable attacks, which cannot be evaded or dodged.

Gamers can enjoy adventurous role-playing in this exciting mobile game, Marvel Strike Force (MSF).

Since the game is inspired by the classic Marvel franchise, you can encounter similar characters, storylines and regions in the game to those in the series. As you collect characters, you may notice that some of them have unavoidable attacks.

Effects in MSF

As you progress in MSF, you will notice that some of your characters have the ability to apply buffs, debuffs and other effects on themselves and enemies. Some of these effects include:

Effect type Effect Description
Buff Counterattack Your character will perform a counterattack when attacked by an enemy.
Buff Evade The next attack received will be dodged.
Debuff Blind The affected character’s Accuracy is reduced by 100 percent.
Debuff Defense Down Damage received is increased by 50 percent and resistance is decreased by 50 percent.

In addition to buffs and debuffs, you can encounter other effects like Assist Now. With this effect, the affected character will assist the next character on their next turn.

MSF: Unavoidable attacks

There are more than 50 characters that you can acquire in MSF, each with unique abilities and skills. Some of these characters have unavoidable attacks, however, this term has caused some confusion amongst players.

Most players believe that the term, “unavoidable attacks” means that the enemy that your character attacks cannot prevent or block the attack.

On a Reddit thread, a player called Kernco, clarified that the term means that the attack can be missed, however, it cannot be evaded, as it is negated, and it cannot be dodged.

In other words, the blind and the dodge responses from the enemy character are ignored. An unavoidable attack in theory should always hit the enemy, no matter what the circumstances are.

Some of the characters with unavoidable attacks include Dark Phoenix, Magneto and Symbiote Spider-Man.

It is undetermined whether these characters’ attacks were updated or not, which means that they may no longer have unavoidable attacks.

Attacks that cannot miss

According to Redditor, Mavajo, some characters have attacks which cannot be missed. Allegedly, these attacks apply to the Blind effect. If a hero is blinded, but uses an ability that cannot miss, the ability will successfully hit the enemy.

The blind will also expire at the end of the character’s turn. Players can use the attacks that cannot miss enemies if they want to mitigate the blind effect on their character.

Attacks that cannot be dodged

In addition to attacks that cannot miss and unavoidable attacks, you may encounter attacks which cannot be dodged.

This means that the enemy cannot dodge the attack, though it applies to both innate dodge chance and to the evade effect.

If the enemy has an evade effect and you use an attack that cannot be dodged, the attack will successfully hit the enemy.

Players should note that the effect will not remove the evade effect from the target, though, as it is only consumed when it successfully procs a dodge.

If players use a purging ability with the “cannot be dodged” description against an evade, it will seem as though the evade has expired, however, it was only removed by the purge aspect of the ability.

Evade

Evade is one of the many buffs in MSF, and it allows you to fully ignore the next ability used against you.

However, some characters have abilities that cannot be avoided, and those abilities will never miss you, regardless of the Evade effect.

When that occurs, your Evade will not be used, it will only be used when the enemy casts an avoidable attack.

Based on the enemy, Evade can affect the battle outcome. Players should note that it will not save you from powerful enemies as they generally ignore the evade buff.
