Nurse Chapel in STFC can increase the amount of Isolytic Cascade damage you deal, however she can only be obtained by spending real money.
The first part of the Gorn Invasion update of Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC) introduced an array of new officers, one of which is SNW Nurse Chapel.
According to Star Trek lore, Chapel served in the medical department aboard the USS Enterprise from the late 2250s until 2270s. She then served at the Starfleet Headquarters during the 2280s.
Commanders can now add Nurse Chapel to their fleet, but, unfortunately, only players who are willing to spend real money in STFC can do so.
If you are a free-to-play player, do not be concerned, as you will still be able to progress in the game as normal if you do not purchase Nurse Chapel’s shards.
To add Nurse Chapel to your fleet, open the “Offers” menu and look for the package that contains Nurse Chapel’s shards.
Unfortunately, the exact price of the pack differs from region to region. Commanders have to click on the green icon which displays the price to make the purchase.
Keep in mind though that you may have to sign into your Scopely account and provide your financial details to complete the transaction. Once the payment is made, you will instantly receive the package’s contents.
When you have added Nurse Chapel to your fleet, you can assign her to a vessel to activate her abilities. We recommend that Commanders increase her level and upgrade her abilities regularly to enhance her capabilities.
Nurse Chapel’s abilities
Similar to other Officers in STFC, Nurse Chapel has various abilities that you can use to vanquish hostiles from the galaxy. Her abilities as well as a description of each are outlined below:
Ability type | Name | Description |
Captain | Not applicable | She does not have a Captain’s Maneuver. Players will receive no benefits by assigning her to the Captain position of a vessel. |
Officer | Archaeological Medicine | This ability increases the amount of Volatile Isomatter that you receive from defeating Gorn Hunters by 25%. |
Below Decks | Protocol 12 | At the beginning of a battle, she increases Isolytic Cascade damage by 5% versus non-Armada hostiles. |
Why should you acquire Nurse Chapel?
As seen in the table, Nurse Chapel is able to increase your Isolytic Cascade Damage by 5%, however, at rank 5, she increases your Isolytic Damage by 40%.
A recent STFC update introduced the Gorn Hunters, and unlike other opponents in the game, they are immune to normal weapon damage. The only way that you can vanquish the Gorn is by dealing Isolytic Damage.
If you are interested in vanquishing the Gorn from the galaxy, you can spend real money to procure Nurse Chapel, but keep in mind that there are other officers, which can be obtained for free, that are also able to deal Isolytic Damage to enemies.
It is therefore not mandatory to purchase Nurse Chapel, however, she will help you conquer the Gorn hostiles.
Alternative officers
If you are not willing to spend real money in STFC to obtain Nurse Chapel, do not fret, as there are other officers that you can use to deal Isolytic Damage.
The only free-to-play officers that can deal this unique damage type are Kathryn Janeway, Enterprise-E Data and Enterprise-E Piccard.
Commanders can collect their officer shards by progressing through STFC. If you have these officers in your collection, we recommend that you upgrade them on a regular basis to enhance their capabilities.
Players who are not interested in obtaining Nurse Chapel can use these officers to destroy the Gorn, but they should bear in mind that they may not be as powerful as Nurse Chapel.
Modified Transponder
Commanders are now able to enjoy the Modified Transponder – SMS event, which began on Tuesday, 16 April 2024. You have until Saturday, 20 April 2024 to defeat Hirogen hostiles, Gorn hostiles and Swarm hostiles.
For every hostile that you vanquish, you will receive a specific number of points. However, players will receive bonus points for assigning M’Benga, Sam Kirk and Nurse Chapel to the bridge of the vessel.
This means that even if you do not own Nurse Chapel, you can still participate in the event. However, if you earn bonus points, you will receive additional rewards when the event concludes.
