On Tuesday, 21 March 2023, OSRS revealed that several worlds are being impacted by connectivity issues, but fortunately, the problem is now resolved.
Old School RuneScape (OSRS) is a popular and adventurous video game that allows you to control a character to develop skills, participate in combat, and explore a fictional world. Similarly to other video games, OSRS experiences problems which impact various worlds.
OSRS Worlds
A server in OSRS is known as a world, which is a computer or part of a computer, which hosts RuneScape. Servers are maintained by Jagex and are distributed throughout the real world. In each world, 2000 players can be connected at once.
There are several worlds to choose from when you are playing OSRS. These worlds include but are not limited to free-to-play, members, leagues, unrestricted, and player-versus-player.
Every world has a specific objective, and you have to ensure that you share a similar objective with a world before connecting to it.
If you are interested in defeating other players, you should connect to the player-versus-player server instead of the leagues world.

If you are still experiencing connectivity issues to the impacted worlds, we recommend that you submit a ticket in the game to notify the developers of the issue.
Previous connectivity issues
OSRS players that play on US worlds experienced another server issue on Saturday, 11 March 2023. The server issue caused connectivity issues that impacted some US worlds and European worlds.
In an official statement, the developers revealed that maintaining a stable and reliable OSRS experience remains a priority for them. Unfortunately, some OSRS players feel that the worlds are not stable and reliable as there have been many server problems.
That being said, the developers continue to protect their game worlds and have been working with partner companies to resolve the issues.
Will there be connectivity issues in the future?
The chances that there will be more connectivity issues in the future are incredibly high, especially since the worlds have been experiencing many problems recently.
If you are struggling to connect to a world, we recommend that you head to the official OSRS website as all connectivity issues are published on the website.
However, this does not mean that you cannot enjoy OSRS, but you may have to connect to a different world to play the game.
When a myriad of OSRS players are experiencing the same issue, the developers will attempt to resolve the issue quickly fast as possible, but they may take the worlds down temporarily to resolve the issue.
