STFC players can use real money to unlock the new Prime Mining Rate, which increases your base Mining Rate by 500%.
As you advance in Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC) you will have to research specific features to gain small advantages. You can research numerous nodes, however, Scopely introduces new research nodes on a regular basis.
The Gorn Invasion Part 1 update was released on Tuesday, 9 April 2024 and it introduced 4 new nodes that you can research to gain a small advantage in STFC.
One of the new nodes that you can research is Prime Mining Rate, which increases base Mining Rate by 500% for all mineable resources.
This means that whatever resources you mine in STFC will be multiplied by 500%. This Prime node has been proven to be extremely useful, especially if you are running low on resources.
There are numerous resources that you can mine in STFC, but keep in mind that every resource has a specific purpose in the game.
In order to unlock the new Prime Mining Rate node, Commanders have to open the “Offers” tab and search for the package with the “Prime Mining Rate” title.
Once you have clicked on the package, you will notice that only players who are willing to spend real money in STFC will be able to unlock the Prime Mining Rate node.
After purchasing the pack, you will receive the necessary item to unlock the new Prime node. Only after you have unlocked it will you be able to enjoy the benefit of an increased mining rate.
Additional Prime nodes
In addition to the Prime Mining Rate, Commanders can unlock the nodes outlined below to gain advantages in STFC:

How to purchase the pack
When you have found the pack with the Prime Mining Rate title, you have to click on the green icon that indicates the price of the icon.
After clicking on the price icon, Commanders can follow the given instructions to complete the payment.
Keep in mind, however, that you may have to enter your financial details or log into your Scopely account to confirm the purchase.
Once you have made the payment, you will receive the pack’s contents in your inventory instantly. Players can then unlock the new Prime Mining Rate and increase their base Mining Rate by 500%.
Do you have to unlock the new Prime Mining Rate?
Since you need real money to unlock the Prime Mining Rate, several players have wondered if it is mandatory to purchase it. If you are not interested in spending real money in STFC, you will still be able to progress in the game as normal.
Commanders who purchase the pack to unlock the new Prime Mining Rate will have an advantage over those who do not purchase the pack.
That being said, you can use free-to-play methods to increase your mining rate, but the increase may not be as big as with the new Prime Mining Rate.
Can other players steal your resources?
If you unlock the new Prime Mining Rate node, your base Mining rate will be increased by 500% for all mineable resources. Keep in mind that while you are mining, other players can attack your vessel and steal some of your resources.
If their cargo is completely empty, there is a chance that you will lose all the resources that you just mined at a quicker pace. We therefore recommend that you do not mine on specific nodes for long periods of time.
Instead, players should only mine resources for a few minutes before moving on to the next node. We also advise Commanders to be on the lookout for potential attackers to protect your resources and to prevent them from being stolen.
