The latest PSO2:NGS headline introduced the game’s first 10-star weapon, Flugelgard, and you have to defend a mining rig to acquire it
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is the latest chapter in the Phantasy Star Online 2 series and it invites players to jump into adventures beyond their imagination.
You can join the Artificial Relict to Keep Species (ARKS) organization to vanquish enemies called the DOLLS.
10 Star Weapon
As you progress in the game, you need to equip your character with the necessary gear and weapons to be able to defeat the opponents.
There are several types of weapons you can farm, and each weapon can provide your character with unique effects when equipped.
On Wednesday, 1 November 2023, PSO2: NGS released the latest Headline on their YouTube channel.
Not only did this update introduce new Giant Mutants, a new Rank for Retem and new limited-time quests that you can enjoy, but it also introduced the first 10-star weapon: Flugelgard.
According to YouTuber, NiNjahCheeto, the 10-star weapons were only set for release on Wednesday, 15 November 2023.
However, several PSO2: NGS gamers revealed that they have already acquired the new Flugelgard weapons by participating in the Mining Rig Defense: Retem (Rank 3+) activity.
This has led players to believe that they can also farm the new weapon by enjoying the triggers.
NiNjahCheeto revealed that the 10-star weapon is extremely powerful, even without enhancing it. However, to equip this weapon, your character must be at least level 75.
The latest Headline revealed that players will be able to acquire the new weapon by completing the four-man Dark Falz Solus quest, however, gamers are yet to get the new 10-star weapon by completing the activity.
Flugelgard’s potential
Once you have procured the new 10-star weapon, you will receive all the benefits that its potential has to offer. The following table lists the Flugelgard’s potential:

Flugelgard’s statistics
Once you have a 10-star weapon, you can enhance it to improve its statistics and increase its effects. The weapon’s statistics are outlined below:

Mining Rig Defense: Retem
The only guaranteed way to acquire the 10-star weapon is by completing the Mining Rig Defense: Retem at Rank 3.
To complete this urgent quest, you need a minimum battle power of 3649 as the average enemy level in Rank 3 is level 80.
Players can find this quest in the South of Retem, and you should keep in mind that you do not have to complete it solo. You can team up with other PSO2: NGS players to complete the activity and potentially earn the new 10-star weapon.
For this quest, you have to defend a resource mining rig from enemy attacks, which come in successive waves. You have to work with other players to successfully defend the rig until the end of the final wave.
Flugelgard weapon series
Certain classes in PSO2: NGS can only use specific weapons, which means that there are 3 types of weapons that players can procure.
Every type has various subcategories for you to experiment with. Depending on your character’s class, you need to either use melee, ranged or technique weapons.
