The PSO2: NGS April 2023 update introduces several new features to the game, including a new class, chapter 5 of the main story and new 8-star weapons.

The game’s developers, Sega, regularly updates the game and recently released the patch notes for April 2023’s update.
PSO2 NGS: April 2023 Update
Sega recently released the patch notes for April 2023’s update. Although the information has been released, most of the new content will, will, however, only be added to the game on Wednesday, 12 April 2023.
The most notable addition to PSO2: NGS is the new Slayer class. This ranged class wields the new Gunblade Weapon and specializes in weaving together several actions to perform quick attacks.
Players can switch between Photon Arts abilities with the directional inputs, enabling a wide array of Actions, which makes it easy to use the right ability in any situation.
From Wednesday, 5 April 2023, you can acquire the new Gunblade weapon by completing specific tasks and by defeating certain monsters.
Bear in mind that a Gunblade weapon cannot be equipped, and tasks from Instructor Slaine cannot be accepted until 12 April 2023.
Furthermore, a new exchange shop, Slayer Operation Prep Ticket Exchange, will be available from 5 April 2023. This shop allows you to trade Slayer Operation Prep Tickets for Gunblades and Weapon Camos.
On top of that, players will be able to access chapter 5 of the main story. Starting 5 April 2023, the newest chapter takes PSO2: NGS players to a high structure which can be seen floating in the sky.
Unfortunately, the method of reaching the floating island is yet to be known. We recommend that you complete chapter 5 as soon as it is released to discover more of Halpha’s secrets.
PSO2: NGS 2nd anniversary
The April update also revealed that players are able to celebrate PSO2: NGS 2nd anniversary in June 2023. However, the festivities will kick off at the end of April 2023.
On Wednesday, 19 April 2023, the 2nd Anniversary limited-time celebrations will include:
- Ability to explore newly decorated Central City, open field and Region Mags
- Xiemi, the navigator for this special event, who will be wearing the winning design from the PSO2 10th Anniversary Item Design Contest
- New Items in the Seasonal Points Exchange Shop
- A new 8-star weapon series known as Revita. It has the effect of recovering health points and has the Augment Dark Exploit II equipped.
- A new Augment Sexun Segundanific to become even more powerful.
Daily tasks, weekly tasks and season 19
According to the update, the weekly and daily tasks have been updated. The weekly tasks now offer new rewards for players to earn once they have completed a weekly quest. Furthermore, you can now earn more Meseta from daily tasks.
This can make farming N-Meseta much easier, as daily tasks are usually quite easy to complete. Since it is a daily task, you can complete one every day to earn rewards.
Players can also enjoy a new mission pass: NGS Season 19. This mission pass consists of several rare rewards you can earn.
There are numerous tiers you have to reach by completing certain activities in PSO2: NGS. You can only claim a reward once you reach a specific tier.
Duel Quests
The update revealed that players can now complete Duel Quests. These quests are high-difficulty solo quests for players who are independent in their combat capabilities.
The first phase, Duel: Phase 1, will offer 4 different quests, and requires you to confront each region’s boss enemy.
Each quest has 2 Title Tasks and you will receive great rewards for completing them. Players can get the new Formidio Fusia Augment Capsule by completing these quests.
However, there is a special reward that can be earned once you have completed all 4 quests. The second phase of the Duel Quests can be expected to launch in the near future.
