In PSO2: NGS, Basewear is part of the Layering Wear system, and you can only equip an item if it is in your collection.
In this fictitious and compelling video game, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2: NGS), you can put your tactical skills to the test and experience role-playing.
As part of the Artificial Relict to Keep Species (ARKS) organisation, it is your responsibility to defeat a powerful threat called the DOLLS.
NGS is set in the fictional world of Halpha, nearly 1000 years after the Oracle event. In addition to completing the main quest, you can explore a vast, open world, defeat enemies, and meet like-minded people.
Players can also enjoy the Fashion system of NGS and equip a range of outfits, including Basewear.
Fashion
In the character creation phase, your character will equip specific clothes, however, the outfit is not permanent as you can change it at a later stage. The “Customize looks” option allows players to change their character’s hairstyle, head parts, outfit, and layering wear.
However, only CASTs, one of the 4 races in NGS have a unique set of customisable items. You can customise the following features of your character:
- Accessories
- Outerwear
- Outfit
- Legs
- Basewear
- Innerwear
- Arms
- Body paint
- Body parts
You should note that the body parts, arms, and legs mentioned above are only applicable to CAST characters.
PSO2 NGS: Basewear
If you are interested in changing your character’s appearance, you have to talk to Eterna, who is a Salon staff member. She can be found in the main plaza with the rest of the non-player characters of Central City.
While you are talking to her, she will give you the opportunity to visit the Salon and if you accept her offer, the character editing screen will open. If you are not a CAST character, you have a slot where you can set an outfit.
Outfits are generally full body, and they can change your accessories to stretch to fit if you are using ones that dramatically alter your appearance. In addition to outfits, you can also equip Layering Wear, which is divided into 3 parts.
You will find outerwear, basewear, and innerwear when you select the Layering Wear option. Basewear can be identified by looking for “Ba” on the name of the item. It is generally used as a regular outfit, but any outerwear will be equipped on top of basewear.
Basewear, on the other hand, is equipped on top of innerwear. It can thus be said that you are equipping your character with layers of clothing.
If you remove your outfit, you will discover a new appearance, as your character has a default, standard Layering Wear equipped.
In the Salon, players can mix and match different Layering Wear to create their dream look. Keep in mind that you can only equip items that you have collected.
Fashion is allegedly regarded as an endgame activity in NGS, and so it is recommended that you take your time with selecting your character’s appearance.
Can you change the basewear’s colours?
If you want to change the colour of any outfit of layering wear, you need a Color Change Pass. Players can acquire a pass by exchanging applicable items in the Swap Shop.
If you have a pass in your inventory, you can select the applicable option from the menu on the left side. If you are editing a CAST, you can select the colour before adjusting according to the description on the bottom of the screen.
It is vital to note that colours on outfits that are equippable by all races cannot be changed.
How to acquire additional Basewear sets
Players can procure additional outfits and layering wear through the scratch tickets in NGS. When you open the in-game shop, you will see a “Play scratch tickets” option. If you select the option, all the available ticket line-ups will appear.
Unfortunately, these tickets have to be purchased with real-life money, but you can use the daily SG ticket to potentially unlock outfits.
Can players use NGS Basewear in PSO2?
It is noteworthy that nothing from NGS can be used in the classic PSO2, however, you can use almost everything from PSO2 in NGS. That being said, players cannot use any innerwear, Basewear, outerwear, or outfits on an NGS body.
Moreover, you cannot use any face specific markings, such as makeup and tattoos on an NGS face. However, it is possible to mix and match faces and bodies, for example, you can have an NGS face on a PSO2 body.
