During November 2023, PSO2: NGS players can defeat the limited-time enemy, Giant Mutants, to earn rich rewards
Since Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis’ gameplay is mostly action-oriented, you can choose between various weapons and playstyles to defeat the DOLLS.
In addition to following the main arc, you can explore the open world of Halpha, which has different sectors.
Mutants
You can progress through Combat Sectors and Exploration Sectors to discover unique features. In the Combat Sectors, you can find numerous enemies to vanquish to earn rewards.
Sega, the game’s developer, recently released the November 2023 update info, which disclosed that players can now encounter Giant Mutants in the Retem’s Sectors.
Giant Mutants are a series of large boss enemies that only appear during designated event periods.

This means that players can only defeat the mutants for a limited time to earn rewards before they are removed from the game.
In Exploration Sectors, certain Dread Enemies will be marked with a Task Marker and if you defeat these enemies, there is a chance that the Task Markers will spawn the Giant Mutant enemy respective to that region.
Defeating a Mutant will give you a chance at collecting rare items, including the 8-star Neos Justitean weapon series, Dread Keeper Augments, Domina Augments and Note Augments.
Players should also note that every Giant Mutant has a chance to drop a specific Weapon Camo and Accessory.
Giant Mutant types
At the time of writing, there are only 2 Giant Mutants that players can encounter in PSO2: NGS. The type of Giant Mutants that you can encounter and the drops you can earn for defeating them are:

When will the mutants be removed from PSO2: NGS?
Unfortunately, the November 2023 update announcement did not reveal when the PSO2: NGS Mutants will be removed from the Retem Region.
We therefore recommend that you defeat as many Mutants as possible to be rewarded generously.
