Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2: NGS) is a thrilling video game that invites players to enjoy strategic role-playing.
The game’s developer, Sega, occasionally hosts in-game events. They recently announced that VTuber, Popona, hosted a concert in PSO2: NGS.
Who is Popona?
Popona is a character in IDOLA: Phantasy Star Saga. She is a sworn PR agent who wants to spread the good word about the Aries Knights. Popona is also eager to recruit volunteers for the organisation, but she unintentionally crosses paths with the Aries Knights.
Although she was initially a character in PSO2: NGS, she is now the game’s official spokesperson and Virtual YouTuber.
Popona is a bubbly and enthusiastic girl who is almost never downbeat. She loves meeting people, and she especially loves the attention and popularity that comes with the job. She has a kind heart, and she is willing to help others when the time comes.
PSO2 NGS: Popona
On 7 December 2022, Sega announced that the NGS official VTuber, Popona, will perform in a limited-time movie concert.
Players can watch the concert in the game to receive the Music Discs: Mugen no Kiseki and the rare drop, KOI KOI Popona ver. You can also get the title, Popona.
During the live concert, your character can earn additional experience points and N-Mesta. Moreover, the rare drop rate is increased by 10 percent after the movie concerts.
Similarly to real-life concerts, Popona had a set schedule for her performances. Popona’s concert schedule is outlined in the table below:

Unfortunately, the table indicates that Popona’s concerts are no longer in PSO2: NGS. This means that if you did not get the drops, you cannot claim them now.
However, players can view Popona’s official YouTube channel if they want to listen to her music.
Will Popona host another in-game concert?
At the time of writing this, it is unclear when Popona will host another in-game music concert. However, she is the official VTuber for NGS, which essentially means that she will likely host more concerts in the future.

Popona’s story
In Episode 1, Popona is off-screen for most of the story, but she is revealed to have been trailing the Aries Knights as they travel across Vandor.
She is constantly finding herself in strange situations as a background character, while the main characters are elsewhere.
After the power of Dark Falz Theater is revealed and is transferred to Erwin, Popona happens upon Theater’s original host body, which was forsaken by Dark Falz. She then takes him into her care.
She later meets Uly and entrusts Theater to him after Theater expresses interest in traveling to Aero. Popona later returns during the climax alongside other characters to assist the Aries Knights in fighting back the aggression of Idola attacking Leoria.
Popona’s official YouTube channel
Popona joined YouTube on 14 January 2022 and has since garnered 28 6000 subscribers to her channel.
Although it is a fairly new account, it has more than 2 million views. The channel’s official description reads as follows, “We will convey the charm of NGS through game distribution!”
She has created numerous playlists on her channel, including NGS headline mirror delivery, Collaboration Delivery, Sonic Frontier, and Prosecca, among others.
In addition to her playlists, Popona has several live videos which allows players to interact and talk with her. She also has an upcoming Christmas Eve live video scheduled for the 24th of December 2022.
