ROX: Next Generation pet list

Ragnarok X: Next Generation (ROX) recently launched its new pet system, with nine pets that are tamable, six evolvable pets, and one pet obtainable through events.

Ragnarok X: Next Generation, also known as ROX, is a mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). The game has maintained the spirit of the well-loved classic, Ragnarok Online, and reimagined it into an impressive three-dimensional (3D) world. ROX introduces a lot of fresh features and innovative gameplay mechanics that a player would not find in the classic version.

ROX has managed to capture the essence of the of the original game with its modern take on the world. Players are able to experience features from the initial game, such as drop classes, the expansive 3D rendered maps as well as the items, and monsters’ players can find in-game. The game also still retains the cartoonish art style of the different playable characters and non-player characters (NPC). The rich lore of the Ragnarok franchise has been incorporated through the game’s main story and side quests, and players get to watch real-time rendered animations of the storylines that will immerse them in the world of Ragnarok.

ROX released its new pet system on Friday, 13 August 2021. The pet system offers a select number of monster companions for players to catch and raise. Once the monster is successfully tamed, it will faithfully follow their owners on every step of their adventure and become an active part of each adventurer’s battle strategies. Every pet will be born with a specific talent that highlights their special passive traits. This gives each pet its own strength, meaning that they will be of great help along a player’s adventures.

How many pets are available?

There are multiple monsters that players can tame as pets, ranging from the weak to the strong. The players can choose which pet they want, as there are various choices. However, the player should determine if they are suitable to care for the particular pet. Ragnarok X: Next generation currently offers 16 different pets for players to choose from. Nine of the 16 pets can be captured, six pets can be evolved, while the Phreeoni pet can only be obtained through events.

Poring

Poring is a jelly-like creature that is commonly seen everywhere in the game. This monster is often described as cute, as it move around through a bouncing motion. It can be captured using a slingshot with blue projectiles, as well as unripe apples. These monster can be found in Prontera South Gate.

The monster can also aide the player by stunning a target while attacking. It also has multiple bonuses for the player, such as increasing hit points, physical penetration and physical damage reduction. In addition, the monster also provides physical defence and physical attack among others.

When the pet reaches level 50, it can be evolved into a Mastering. However, players should be aware that once a pet evolves, it loses all of its skills.

A Poring is recommended for Whitesmith, Dagger SinX, Spear Lord Knight and a short bow Sniper.

Lunatic

A Lunatic is a common kind of rodent with fluffy hair covering its entire body. It is very soft, fluffy and shaped like a rabbit. It is often described as a cuddly monster that loves carrots. These monsters can be found in Prontera South Gate.

The monster is able to summon other Lunatics to help the player fight enemies. Lunatics are able to increase the player’s hit points, critical damage, physical damage, reduce damage taken and it gives a damage bonus.

When the pet reaches level 50, it can be evolved into an Eclipse. As with the Poring pets, it will also lose all of its skills when it has evolved.

The pet is recommended for agility critical Lord Knight, agility critical SinX, agility critical Sniper and Battle Priests.

Hornet

A Hornet is a working bees under the command of a queen bee. However, when it is successfully captured, it will follow the player’s orders. Hornets can be found in the Mjolnir Mountain region and can be captured using the blue projectiles.

The monster can deal a lot of damage on the targets maximum hit points. It also increases the player’s maximum hit points and magic damage. It further offers magic penetration and magic defence to the player. The hornet pet will also reduce the amount of magic damage the player receives.

When the pet reaches level 50, it can be evolved into a Mistress, the queen of bees. As with the previous pets, it will also lose all of its skills when it has evolved.

The pet is recommended for a one-handed mage or a two-handed haste mage.

Grasshopper

Grasshoppers can be found in Pontera West Gate, and can be captured using the blue projectiles.

The monster can inflict confusion around the target within a three meter area of effect (AOE).

It can also increase the player’s critical damage and provides a damage bonus. It also reduces the damage the player receives, while increasing the player’s physical defence.

When the pet reaches level 50, it can be evolved into Rocker. As with the previous pets, it will also lose all of its skills when it has evolved.

The pet is recommended for agility critical SinX, agility critical Lord Knight, agility critical Sniper and Battle Priests. Grasshoppers are suitable for all jobs in player versus player (PvP) game mode.

Familiar

This bat inhabits wet and cold environments. It is a fast flyer and will attack players in groups. However, once successfully captured, the pet will become a life-long companion. These monsters can be found in sewer 1F.

The monster will increase the enemies’ life drain. It provides the player with haste, as well as increased magic penetration and magic defence. Familiars will reduce the player’s magic damage taken. The pet will also offer the player a magic damage bonus.

When the pet reaches level 50, it can be evolved into a Drain Liar. As with the previous pets, it will also lose all of its skills when it has evolved.

The pet is recommended for a two-handed haste mage or a one-handed mage

Baby Desert Wolf

Even though this young Desert Wolf looks adorable, its fangs never miss its targets or prey. This monster can be found in the Morroc region.

Baby Desert Wolfs will reduce the enemies’ final P/M damage reduction within a three-meter area of effect (AOE). The pet provides the player with haste and increased physical penetration. The wolf will also reduce the player’s physical damage taken. Lastly, the pet offers a physical damage bonus to the player.

When the pet reaches level 50, it can be evolved into a Desert Wolf. As with the previous pets, it will also lose all of its skills when it has evolved. However, this pet does not require the headgear in order to evolve.

The pet is recommended for all physical classes and has been described as the best end game pet.

Yoyo

Yoyo is a mischievous pink-coloured monkey. This monster can be found in the labyrinth forest and can be tamed with bananas. Even though players must be cautious of being attacked by a group, Yoyos make an excellent companion.

The pet will throw stones and inflict a stun to the enemy. A Yoyo provides the player with increased physical penetration, critical damage and physical damage.

This pet differs from the previous pets, as it cannot be evolved. However, the pet will continue levelling up and becoming stronger.

The pet is recommended for agility critical Sniper, agility critical SinX, agility critical Lord Knight and Battle Priests.

Giearth

This monster is a kind of earth fairy that lives underground. It gathers ores and processes them. A Giearth can be found in the Mjolnir mine 1F.

The pet’s talent is increasing the player’s mining speed. It provides the player with increased magic defence, magic damage and critical damage. Giearths also reduce the magic damage the player receives.

Just as with Yoyos, Giearths cannot evolve. Instead, the pet will continue to level up and become stronger.

The pet is recommended for the Mage class. It is seen as the best magic blue pet as it gives good final statistics without evolving.

Skeleton Worker

Skeleton Worker is the skeletal dead body of a person who holds a deep grudge. This monster was killed in a mine accident. After its death, the monster continued to gather ores within the deep pit. Skeleton Workers can be found in Mjolnir mine 1F.

The pet will reduce the enemies’ status resistance. It provides the player with physical defence, immunity, duration and magic defence. Skeleton Workers will reduce the player’s magic damage and physical damage received.

Just as with Yoyos and Giearths, this pet is not able to evolve. This means that the pet will continue to level up in order to become stronger.

The pet is recommended for all classes. Skeleton workers are recommended for the PvP game mode. It is seen as the best defence blue pet, as it has the best statistics without evolving.

Phreeoni

This is a mysterious monster that nobody knows where it came from, or what it is. This pet is only obtainable through in-game events.

This monster can devour any target, with the exception of non-player characters (NPCs), and other players. It provides the player with increased physical defence, magic defence and maximum hit points. This pet will also reduce the physical damage and magic damage the player receives.
