Increasing your Assessment Rank in STFC will increase your chances of being successful in upgrading your Forbidden Tech.
Gamers can put their tactical skills to the test in this explorative mobile game, Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC).
The game’s developer, Scopely, recently released the patch notes for update 56, which adds a variety of new aspects to STFC. Players can now progress towards the Assessment Rank to earn rewards.
STFC: Assessment Rank
Update 56 revealed that players level 19 and higher can attempt to slay hostiles in a new activity called Q’s Trials.
Every time you successfully complete a trial, the Rank of the Trial will increase, which means that the hostile’s power will also increase.
As your Rank increases in the Trial, you will be able to collect Milestone Rewards. However, when you reach the maximum Rank, there will be no more one-time Milestone Rewards to collect.
Every newly unlocked Trial has a higher maximum Rank value, which allows you to attain a higher Assessment Rank. Players’ Assessment Ranks determine their chances of success when upgrading Forbidden Tech.
You should therefore always strive to push it as high as possible, as that will ensure that you successfully upgrade your Forbidden Tech.
In order to unlock a new Trial, players must increase the level of a new building – Q’s Court. You may have to farm specific items and resources to upgrade the building.
Forbidden Tech
Forbidden Tech can transform your tier-2 and higher ships into more powerful vessels. To unlock a ship’s Forbidden Tech slot, you have to use Fusion Rods, which can be exchanged for Forbidden Tech Credits in the Refinery.
The new technology can continue to improve through Level and Tier-up actions. Every attempt to improve your Forbidden Tech could fail, and the upgrading materials are consumed on all attempts, whether they are successful or not.
You should therefore continue to improve your Assessment Rank to increase the chances of successfully upgrading your Forbidden Tech.
How to unlock Trials
To gain access to Q’s Trials, players must construct Q’s Court, which is only available to players level 19 and higher. To build it, you need to acquire Court of Q Keys, which are in the Gift Section.
To start a Trial, you need to procure Trial Bells from the daily gift or from specific events. That being said, you can purchase additional Trial Bells from the Offers section.
If you successfully complete a Trial, you will be rewarded with Protomatter, which can be used to upgrade your Forbidden Tech.
What should you do during a Trial?
During a trial, you have to destroy a hostile enemy before the timer runs out. Every Trial comprises either a Battleship, an Interceptor or an Explorer.
However, Q will occasionally select a special hostile for you to slay, which could be a different ship type. STFC players will fail the Trial if they do not defeat the enemy before the timer runs out.
