The Borg Probe Systems in STFC are the only systems in which Commanders can find the Borg Tactical Probe hostiles, which drop Inert Nanoprobes.
There are numerous systems that you can explore in Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC), several of which are referred to as Borg Probe Systems.
It is worth noting that only players who have collected Transwarp Cells can travel to the Borg Probe Systems.
To obtain Transwarp Cells, you have to construct the Vi’dar. Transwarp Cells can be procured through a chest in the gifts section, however, they can only be claimed every 22 hours.
Once you have acquired a Transwarp Cell, you can use it to travel to one of the Borg Probe Systems.
Commanders should note that the Transwarp Cell will still be consumed if they cancel the warp,. Players should therefore carefully consider whether or not they want to travel to one of the Borg Probe Systems.
There are several Borg Probe Systems that you can travel to, but every system has a minimum warp range requirement.
The following table lists the systems that you can travel to:
Name | Level | Warp requirement |
Metra Alpha | 25 | 18 |
Metra Beta | 25 | 18 |
Metra Gamma | 25 | 18 |
Benes Alpha | 26 | 18 |
Benes Beta | 26 | 18 |
Benes Gamma | 27 | 18 |
Benes Delta | 27 | 18 |
Roda Alpha | 28 | 22 |
Roda Beta | 28 | 22 |
Roda Gamma | 29 | 22 |
Roda Delta | 30 | 22 |
Corta Beta | 32 | 22 |
Corta Gamma | 33 | 22 |
As indicated in the table, most players can explore the Borg Probe systems. If you are in the early-game stage, you will not be able to travel to the listed systems as your warp range is too low.
Enemies
As you explore the Borg Probe Systems, you may encounter Borg Tactical Probe enemies. The enemies’ levels determine the systems in which they spawn:

If you are interested in defeating a Borg Tactical Probe, we recommend that you attack an enemy whose level corresponds with your current level.
For instance, if you are level 31, you should defeat the level 31 Borg Tactical Probe to earn rewards.
Borg Tactical Probe rewards
If you vanquish a Borg Tactical Probe hostile, you will earn Inert Nanoprobes, which can be refined in your Borg Refinery. Players can choose between 2 types of refined Nanoprobes, namely, Active Nanoprobes and Charged Nanoprobes.
Active Nanoprobes can be used to promote your Borg Officers, and Charged Nanoprobes are used to upgrade your Vi’dar. You can also use your Charged Nanoprobes to purchase Faction Reputation and Credits in the Event Store.
Since both types of Nanoprobes can help you advance in STFC, it can be difficult to decide which type of Nanoprobes you want to get.
We recommend that you alternate between the 2 types of Nanoprobes to regularly upgrade your Borg officers and your Vi’dar.
However, we do not advise players to use the Charged Nanoprobes to purchase Faction Reputation and Credits in the Event Store.
Vi’dar
As previously mentioned, you need Transwarp Cells to travel to a Borg Probe System. Players can only acquire this item once they have constructed the Vi’dar vessel.
It is noteworthy that only Commanders who have a Shipyard of level 25 or higher can build the Vi’dar vessel.
To construct the Vi’dar, you have to participate in Borg-themed events to earn Vi’dar blueprints. Players can also purchase Vi’dar packs with real money to procure half, or the full quantity of blueprints required to build the ship.
Once you have obtained enough blueprints, you can construct the Vi’dar and earn Transwarp Cells to travel to the Borg Probe Systems.
Do you have to travel to the Borg Probe Systems?
The only systems in which the Borg Tactical Probe hostiles spawn can be found in Borg Space.
If you are interested in getting Inert Nanoprobes, you have to defeat the Borg Tactical Probe hostiles. Only players who meet the requirements will be able to travel to the Borg Probe Systems.
That being said, we recommend that you upgrade your Vi’dar once you have added it to your fleet.
This is because the Vi’dar is predominantly used to fight off Borg Tactical Probes. The stronger your vessel is, the quicker it will vanquish its opponents.
