One of the teams you can create for PvP in STFC is the Explorer Strike Team, however, you can replace Ikat’ika with Picard as captain.
Commanders can test their strategic skills in this space-exploration video game, Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC). There are various game modes that players can enjoy in STFC, one of which is player-versus-player (PvP).
In order to succeed in this mode, you have to use the correct team and ship. One of these teams is the Explorer Strike Team.
Do you have to participate in all game modes?
In addition to player-versus-player (PvP), you can enjoy player-versus-environment and several in-game events in STFC.
Although PvP is a feature in the game, you can progress in the game without ever fighting another player if you so choose.
Unfortunately, this does not mean that you can skip PvE, as it is necessary to vanquish hostiles to complete quests.
As for in-game events, we recommend that you participate in events as much as possible, as you can earn rich rewards for completing objectives.
STFC: Explorer Strike Team
There are several ships and teams that you can use to fight other players in STFC, however, some ships and crew combinations perform better than others.
According to YouTuber, Rev Deuce, the Strike Team, including Explorers, is the best PvP set you can use in STFC.
Keep in mind that there is a lot to take into consideration when you are talking about a Strike Team as a whole. When you are using an Explorer Strike Team, you should remember the Battle Triangle.

This triangle indicates which ships have an advantage and disadvantage in battle. Explorers have an advantage over Interceptors, but they have a disadvantage in a fight against Battleships.
After selecting your Explorer, you need to select specific crew members to join the fight.
When it comes to selecting a crew, consider the situation you will be fighting in. Players generally select Pon, Ikat’Ika and Weyoun for their Explorer Strike Team.
That being said, Deuce mentioned that players can replace Ikat’Ika if they have specific needs in a PvP battle.
The Explorer Strike Team is allegedly the most versatile of the entire Strike Team category. This is because they can be used in other game modes.
For instance, Pon is extremely good at defending your base while Weyoun is very good at base raiding.
If you have not collected these characters, you can also use Kirk, Charvanek and Weyoun as an Explorer Strike Team. Another player suggested that you use Picard, Weyoun and Pon for the Explorer Strike Team.
Abilities
Pon, Ikat’ika and Weyoun have unique abilities which can influence your Explorer significantly during a PvP battle. The following table lists their abilities and a description of each:
Name | Captain’s Maneuver | Officer Ability |
Pon | Lost in Transition: Pon has a certain percentage chance at the beginning of the combat to delay opponent weapons for 3 rounds while fighting players, on an Explorer. | Breen Served Cold: Pon decreases opponent players’ Critical Chances by a certain percentage at the start of every Round for 3 Rounds if on an Explorer with Morale. |
Ikat’ika | She increases all Mitigation stats by a certain percentage for 1 Round every Round when fighting players, if on an Explorer. | Created to Win: Increases weapon damage by a certain percentage at the beginning of each Round for 3 rounds when fighting players, if on an Explorer with Morale. |
Weyoun | He has a certain percentage chance to apply Morale for 8 rounds on combat start when fighting against players, if on an Explorer. | Manipulate, Cajole, Deceive: He increases Weapon Shots by a certain percentage at the beginning of every Round for 2 rounds when fighting other players, if on an Explorer with Morale. |
Which ships can you use?
There is a number of Explorer ships in STFC. However, players should note that the Explorer you have should have Morale, as it triggers your crew members’ abilities.
The following ships are considered Explorers:
Ship names | Description |
USS Voyager | A legend on par with the USS Enterprise, the Voyager embodies the phrase, “Where no one has gone before.” This is one of the most technologically advanced ships in the Federation fleet. |
USS Titan-A | The Titan-A is a Neo-Constitution ship whose retro design is inspired by older Constitution Class vessels. It is equipped with cutting-edge propulsion technology and overpowered impulse engines. |
USS Cerritos | It was designed to function as a support vessel for the more durable ships in the flight. But recent events have made it clear that the crew of the Cerritos has more heart than many give them credit for. |
USS Enterprise-D | This vessel is perhaps one of the most iconic ships in the galaxy because of its shielding and weapon capabilities. |
USS Franklin-A | It is armed with a special volumetric wavelength amplifier and is capable of disrupting an entire Swarm cluster in a matter of seconds. |

Morale
It is clear that your Explorer needs to have Morale for the crew members’ abilities to activate. Without Morale, you will lose the battle, as your crew members will not be able to use their abilities.
Morale essentially increases Shield Piercing, Armor Piercing and Accuracy, which increases the vessel’s damage output. Thus, gamers should ensure that the Explorer they use has Morale before entering a PvP battle.
