There are several crew members you can assign to a ship to increase its impulse speed in STFC, however, you should also focus on synergies.

Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC) is an explorative video game that invites gamers to indulge in a fictitious space realm. As you progress in the game, you will recruit officers and crew members.

These characters have special abilities which influence the statistics of the vessels to which they are assigned. Some of the crews can increase your ship’s impulse speed.

STFC: Impulse Speed Crew

All the vessels in STFC have statistics that influence their performance while exploring galaxies or while destroying hostiles.

A ship’s impulse speed is the speed that your ship travels through a system. This means that the higher a ship’s impulse speed is, the faster your ship will travel through the systems in STFC.

Players can increase a ship’s statistics by upgrading it, or by assigning a specific crew to it. You can therefore assign specific crew members to a ship to increase its impulse speed.

You should note that only specific crew members can increase a vessel’s impulse speed.

If you are interested in increasing your ship’s impulse speed, we recommend that you use Pan along with Synergy and Kuran.

Keep in mind, however, that you have to attack a hostile to trigger Kuron’s ability which will increase the ship’s impulse speed.

Abilities

All officers in STFC have unique abilities that can influence your ship. However, only a few officers can increase a vessel’s impulse speed. The impulse speed crew’s abilities are as follows:

Officer Captain’s Maneuver Officer’s Ability
Pan Getting up to Speed: This increases the ship’s impulse speed by 20 percent. When used with Navi, you can use this to increase your impulse speed by 50 percent. Mistakes were Made: This gives you a chance apply a hull breach to your own ship.
Klaa Hot Pursuit: Increases the ship’s Impulse Speed by 25 percent. Critical Strike: Increases the ship’s Critical Hit Damage by a certain percentage.

Additional officers

Although Kuran and Navi do not increase a ship’s impulse speed, they synergize with the officers that can increase a ship’s impulse speed. Kuron and Navi’s abilities are:

Officer Captain’s Maneuver Officer’s Ability
Kuron No Negotiations: He has a 50 percent chance of automatically reloading the first Kinetic Shot. None
Navi Drastic Measures: At the start of each round, if the ship has a hull breach, Navi increases the Critical Hit damage bonus by 20 percent for the round. Guardian Angel: It gives you a bonus to armor, shield deflection and dodge when your ship has a hull breach.

How does Synergy work?

Synergy happens when each of your bridge officers has a different role, while the central role is fulfilled by someone who belongs to the Captains.

Depending on whether there are 1 or 2 bars active on every side, all 3, only 2, or just the captain could benefit from the added stats.

This means that if you use Pan with Navi, their synergy will increase Pan’s statistics, which will increase the ship’s impulse speed even more.
