STFC: Pattern Buffer

To unlock a past arc mission in the Holodeck, STFC players have to progress in the battle pass and participate in events to earn Pattern Buffers.

Scopely regularly introduces new arcs and missions that players can enjoy in Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC).

However, there may come a time that you want to complete a previous arc’s missions to unlock a path or earn valuable rewards.

The Holodeck is a unique building that you can construct in your station once you have reached level 15.

Once it is constructed, you can use it to claim new and past arc missions. To start a new arc mission, you have to spend the required Matrix Diodes.

However, if you are interested in completing past arc missions, you have to spend the required Pattern Buffers.

This unique item can be sourced through events or the IAP store, however, it is believed that you can also procure Pattern Buffers through the battle pass.

You therefore have to check the event menu regularly to see which events you have to participate in to earn Pattern Buffers.

Scopely regularly releases a new battle pass that you can progress in to earn rewards, but ke you have to complete specific tasks to progress in the battle pass.

If you are not interested in participating in events or advancing in the battle pass to earn Pattern Buffers, you can purchase a Pattern Buffer package. Keep in mind that this package can only be purchased with real money.

Once you have Pattern Buffers, you can head to your Holodeck to see which past arc mission you want to complete.

How many Pattern Buffers do you need?

Every past arc mission requires a specific quantity of Pattern Buffers to unlock. The following table lists how many Pattern Buffers you need to complete a specific quest:

Which Holodeck missions should you complete?

There are numerous missions that you can complete in the Holodeck, however, some are more important than others and others will reward you more than other missions.

We recommend that you begin with the TOS missions as they offer the most rewards. This essentially means that you need 2000 Pattern Buffers to complete both parts of the TOS missions.

Once you have completed them, you can either complete the Borg missions or the Outlaws. The Borg missions require 4300 Pattern Buffers, and the Outlaws require 3000 Pattern Buffers.

All these missions require huge quantities of Pattern Buffers to complete and if you are not willing to spend real money in the game, it may take some time for you to collect enough Pattern Buffers to complete the missions.

How many Holodeck missions can you accept?

Commanders can only have 54 active and archived Holodeck missions at a time.

If you have reached the maximum number of missions, you will likely have received a warning message which will allow you to purchase another mission after the total number drops.

Commanders then have to complete the missions in their Holodeck before they can purchase a new, or past arc mission.

Although it may be some time before you can complete all the Holodeck missions that you want to complete, the rewards you will receive are worth it.
