STFC: Rep Lock

We recommend that STFC players reach the 10 million Rep Lock with Klingon to unlock the Hull Breach bonus before focusing on other Factions.

As you progress in Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC) you will be able to increase your reputation with an array of factions.

Keep in mind, however, that as you increase your reputation with a specific Faction, your reputation with another Faction may decrease.

We therefore recommend that you only increase your reputation with 1 faction at a time until you reach a reputation lock.

For Federation, Romulan and Klingon, there are 3 reputation locks at 10 million points, 1 billion points and 15 million points.

When you reach a reputation lock, your reputation will not be able to go below that lock. This gives Commanders a unique advantage when they want to increase their reputation with other Factions.

Factions provide you with several advantages, from exclusive ships to protection in their space. Commanders should therefore increase their reputation with a specific Faction to receive the bonus.

However, when you reach a reputation lock, you can either increase your reputation with another Faction to get more benefits, or you can increase your reputation with another Faction to get access to other vessels.

Players are free to choose which Faction they want to increase their reputation points with. This means that you can select any faction and complete activities to increase your reputation until you reach a rep lock.

You can then choose which Faction you want to increase your reputation with.

It is worth noting that the Augment, Outlaw and Bajoran Factions behave differently as they do not have Faction Locks.

Although they do not have reputation locks, your Reputation will not decrease if you completing specific actions in the game.

Reputation levels

As you gain Reputation points, you will climb the Reputation levels, but some of your actions may decrease your Reputation with other Factions. The table below lists some of the Reputation Levels that you can reach:

Reputation level Reputation points
Enemy -2 000 000 to -500 000
Neutral -499 to 499
Neighbor 5000 to 24 999

Consort I 500 000 to 1 199 999
Associate I 2 000 000 to 4 999 999
Celebrated 30 000 000 to 49 999 999
Esteemed 80 000 000 to 139 999 999
Legend I 15 000 000 000 to 15 999 999 999

How to increase your Faction Reputation

In order to increase your reputation with a Faction, you have to complete specific activities. Players can travel to systems to vanquish hostiles from other Factions of the galaxy.

Furthermore, you have to complete your daily goals and missions to earn reputation points.

Keep in mind that these missions and goals reset on a daily basis. We therefore recommend that you log into STFC on a daily basis to complete the missions.

Furthermore, you can spend resources in the various Faction Reputation Events and spend charged nanoprobes in the event store.

Commanders can also defeat Armadas to increase their faction reputation without losing reputation with another Faction.

Which Faction should you choose?

As previously mentioned, it does not matter which Faction you select, as you will unlock a variety of bonuses with every Faction.

Keep in mind that as you increase your Reputation with 1 Faction, you may decrease your Reputation with another Faction as you destroy faction ships in their space.

When your Reputation decreases with a Faction, you may be attacked by enemies when you enter that Faction’s space.

However, that will change when you reach a Rep Lock with the first Faction you selected and focus on increasing your Reputation with another Faction.

Advice for new players

When you first start playing STFC, it can be quite overwhelming to start increasing your Reputation with the various Factions.

We recommend that you start planning your strategy before you hit level 15. You can choose 1 Faction and focus on it until you reach the 10 million reputation lock.

Commanders can then repeat the process for the other 2 factions. When you have all 3 Factions locked at 10 million points, you can repeat the process to the 1 billion point level.

We recommend that you increase your Reputation with Klingon first as you will receive a Hull Breach bonus. However, you should focus on accumulating 1 billion Reputation Points for Federation.

This Faction’s level 42 ship, the Kelvin, is an Interceptor and the Hull Breach bonus works best on this type of vessel.
