The Supply Chain Antics event is one that you can enjoy in STFC, however, it is considered one of the worst events in the game.
You can put your strategic abilities to the test in this adventurous mobile game, Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC).
The game is based on the classic series, Star Trek, so players will likely encounter similar storylines, characters, and locations in the game as in the rest of the franchise.
When you first start playing the game, you will only have access to a ship and a space station, but you will get additional ships as you progress in the game.
STFC has an array of in-game events and activities that you can enjoy, but it is recommended that you focus on the main storyline. One of the events you can partake in is Supply Chain Antics, which is not available to all players.
What is an in-game event?
An in-game event allows you to experience the game in a new, exciting way for a limited time. Some of the most successful in-game events include limited obstacles, tournaments, and challenges.
These activities generally motivate players to reopen a game that they may have been neglecting for some time. Keep in mind that participating in in-game events rewards players with rare and valuable items that can sometimes only be obtained from the specific event.
Sometimes, an in-game event corresponds with real-life events, such as Christmas and Halloween. During a themed event, players can procure items that align with the theme.
STFC: Supply Chain Antics
STFC has several limited-time events that you can enjoy, but bear in mind that some have certain requirements that you have to meet before you can partake in the event. One of the events you can enjoy is Supply Chain Antics, for which you have to be at least level 20 to participate in it.
The official description explains that you have to raid plundered cargo from Romulan and Klingon supply ships. However, you can earn additional points by raiding other players for resources and materials. The event took place on 11 and 21 September 2022, but it experienced controversy.
Although you could raid Romulan and Klingon supply ships to earn points, many players revealed that raiding other players’ ships for resources was a quicker way to earn points.
In other words, the game motivates players to participate in the player-versus-player (PvP) game mode, which sparked controversy.
This event has been described as the worst event that the developer, Scopely, has ever hosted. Allegedly, the player-versus-environment (PvE) method to earn points is one of the worst grinds in the game and hence, players were forced to attack other players’ ships to gain resources.
That being said, PvE players who have unlocked the Amalgam ship found it easier to attack Romulan and Klingon supply ships. However, this was poorly communicated to players, so players did not unlock it when they had the opportunity to.
Amalgam
The Amalgam was introduced in early 2022 and since then, it has been beneficial to players. Keep in mind that you can only obtain this ship when you have reached level 31.
With its unique ability to fill its cargo, and then exceed it by stealing a percent of its target’s cargo, the Amalgam specialises in reading large quantities of resources.
The ship also has its own gameplay activity which focuses on raiding Supply ships in the Klingon and Romulan systems. To upgrade this ship, players must refine Plundered Cargo and simultaneously earn exclusive Faction reputation Exocomps.
Is the Supply Chain Antics event mandatory?
Players should note that the Supply Chain Antics event can be skipped if they do not want to participate in it. If you decide not to partake in the event, you will not earn rewards, which can potentially influence your gameplay.
Many players see the Supply Chain Antics as a ‘buy an Amalgam event’ as you may waste your time, and efforts collecting resources and defeating players if you have not unlocked the ship.
If you do have the ship, it is advisable that you enjoy the event. However, it is not advised that you unlock the ship only to participate in the Supply Chain Antics event.
