One of the missions STFC players can complete is The Price We Pay and once completed, you will gain access to a new System Path.
Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC) is an exciting game that invites gamers to explore a vast galaxy, complete missions and defeat hostiles. There are numerous missions that you can complete, including side missions and main arcs.
The main arcs are not optional and have to be completed if you want to make headway in the game. The side missions, however, are optional, and players can complete them to earn additional rewards. One of these missions is The Price We Pay.
This mission cannot be started directly by accepting it in a system. This is because it is part of a chain mission, which means that you have to complete several missions to unlock The Price We Pay.
Once you have access to The Price We Pay, Maia will reveal that you are getting more distress calls. After responding to the distress call, Maia will mention that you are not too late, as the ship is still attacking the colony.
Allegedly, it is the same ship that was used by the pallid Starfleet Officer who attacked you. Players have to stop the hostile ship, but it will escape. Maia then mentions that players can follow the ship to find out where it originated from.
Once you have tracked the ship, Maia will reveal that she lost the ship’s trail. However, if the hostiles are attacking colonies again, you may not have to wait long for more enemies to appear. You then have to track the vessel to find out where they came from.
Subsequent missions
Once you have completed The Price We Pay mission, you will gain access to the next mission in the chain. The following table lists the subsequent missions:
Mission | Tasks |
The Abyss |
|
Catalyst Part 1 |

Catalyst Part 2 |

Patterns of Behavior |

Why should you complete The Price We Pay?
Since players will only receive 124 4-star Uncommon Interceptor Parts for completing The Price We Pay, several Commanders have questioned why they should complete the mission.
There is a vast universe that you can explore in STFC, however, not all paths are open without effort.
If you complete the The Price We Pay mission, you will unlock the Rek’Sgar – Beta Sector and Welma – Beta Sector path. Keep in mind, however, that only players who have reached level 38 and higher can unlock the new path.
When you have unlocked the new path, you can explore an entire new part of space, defeat new enemies, and discover new missions.
Unable to find the mission
On the official STFC Discord server, several Commanders have mentioned that they cannot find the The Price We Pay mission. Allegedly, there is a level requirement that has to be met before players can accept the mission.
Some Commanders have revealed that the level requirement is either level 48 or level 49. If you are level 8 and you still cannot find the mission, we recommend that you focus on the content available to you and focus on increasing your level.
If you meet the level requirement and you still cannot find the mission, you should check if you have completed all the previous missions in the mission chain. If you missed a mission, The Price We Pay will not be available.
Rek’Sgar – Beta Sector and Welma – Beta Sector path not unlocking
When you have completed the The Price We Pay mission, you will gain access to the Rek’Sgar – Beta Sector and Welma – Beta Sector path.
However, some Commanders revealed that they are unable to access the path even though they have completed the mission.
If you have completed the mission and you still have not gained access to the path, we recommend that you restart the game. If the problem persists, you can submit a ticket to Scopely to make them aware of the issue.
