Digital Extremes, Warframe’s developer, has been releasing various cryptic clues ahead of TennoCon 2023 and one of the clues is about the Ancient Beast.
Players can enjoy futuristic role-playing elements in this adventurous video game, Warframe. You have to assume the role of the Tenno who have awoken from a millennia-long cryosleep.
Warframe recently posted on Twitter that, “Opening a door is the first step on a new path” however, this door has been locked by the keys of the Ancient Beast.

As TennoCon approaches, Digital Extremes, Warframe’s developer, have been dropping many cryptic clues on their social media platforms.
On Friday, 11 August 2023, Warframe posted on Twitter, “Opening a door is the first step on a new path. It has to be the right door, however.”
The post continues, “Certainly not this door, Tenno. Perhaps you have opened it before, locked by the keys of the ancient beast?”
Countless Warframe players have been trying to solve this clue, as it is a hint of what players can expect to be added to the game.
The keys of the ancient beast and the mundane symbols are a very interesting clue. Necramechs are ancient war machines built by the Entratis and used as protectors.
Players may have encountered them as they progressed through the isolation vaults.
YouTuber, Tactical Potato, stated that the keys of the ancient beast may symbolize the void itself. This essentially means that the void is the ancient beast.
Tactical Potato also theorizes that the key that the tweet is referring to is the old void keys, though it could also be a reference to the Janus key.
Which door is the tweet referring to?
Tactical Potato mentioned that there are many doors that the Tenno had to open previously, however, he believes it is the door directly linked to the void and to the Heart of Deimos.
Tactical Potato believes that it would be a great way to reuse the assets and the lore of Deimos that several players forgot about.
As previously explained, the Necramech enemies are ancient war machines that use Void Power to function.
This means that these foes can have an imperative part to play in the upcoming arc, as it is a possibility that they can be controlled.
Mundane symbols
It is believed that the door can be opened using mundane symbols, instead of sacred.
Tactical Potato has a theory that it could be Requiem symbols since rizzling between them and the Man in the Wall could even be the combination that he said when he showed up at the end of the new war quest.
This theory fits perfectly with the isolation faults, where you also need combinations of Requiem symbols to open certain doors.
When will information about the Ancient Beast be released?
At the time of writing this, all information surrounding the Ancient Beast is theories created by Warframe players, which means that it is quite possible that none of the theories will be implemented in the game.
Official details surrounding the door, the keys and the Ancient Beast will be released at the 2023 TennoCon.
This event will take place on Saturday, 26 August 2023 and players can earn a range of items by participating in its activities.
