WoW: Dreamsurges
On Monday, 7 August 2023 Blizzard announced that patch 10.1.7, also known as Fury Incarnate, will be released on 5 September 2023.
This update introduces new public events, heritage armor quests, new customizations, new story quests and a holiday refresh.
The new public event is known as Dreamsurges and it allows players to gain experience points faster.
Each week, one of the four original zones of the Dragon Isles will be affected by a Dreamsurge, which is coated in magic reminiscent of the Green Dragonflight.
When a Dreamsurge is active, all players in the zone will receive the Dreaming Winds buff, which grants players a 25 percent experience boost while questing there.
This means that leveling characters from level 60 to level 70 will be much easier and quicker.
Players in Dreamsurge regions will also gain special buffs that give them an advantage while fighting in that zone. Every 30 minutes, everyone in the area will get to vote on 1 of 2 special buffs that all players will benefit from.
Dreamsurge Coalescence
In addition to receiving numerous buffs while questing in a Dreamsurge area, you can loot a new currency known as Dreamsurge Coalescence by completing special event objectives.
You can also obtain the currency by looting certain items or slaying Dream-empowered rare spawns.
Players can exchange the Dreamsurge Coalescence for powerful catch-up gear for level 70 characters. This essentially means that you can acquire gear for all your alts.
Waking Dream Portals
When a Dreamsurge is active in a zone, you may encounter Waking Dream portals, which spawn Druids of the Flame.
The iconic foes from World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are back and you can fend them off by destroying altars, slaying mods or by Dragonriding through aerial targets.
By doing this, you will spawn a Flame Lieutenant who drops Dreamsurge Coalescence, a Shadowflame Crest, catch-up gear and items used to make the new fiery mammoth mount.
Catch-up gear
Completing Dreamsurge events drops item level 402, Veteran 1/8 fear, which is upgradable to a max of ilvl 424.
WoW players can also purchase this gear from Celestine of the Harvest at Dreamsurge location for 100 Dreamsurge Coalescence each.
By completing the Dreamsurge weekly quest, you will be rewarded with Dreamsurge Chrysalis, which allows you to purchase item level 415, Champion 1/8, upgradable to a max of ilvl 437, from Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem. Each piece costs 1 Chrysalis.
