Evony: General Subutai

Although Evony’s Subutai is extremely powerful, we recommend that you use him as an assistant General to Douglas, Charles II, Simeon, Edward III, James Conrad and Eleanor.

In Evony: The King’s Return, players have to build an empire from scratch by constructing buildings, training troops, harvesting resources and slaying monsters. To assist you with these tasks, you can recruit Generals like Subutai.

Evony: General Subutai

Subutai is a mongol General who conquered more territory than any other commander during the expansion of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Players can recruit this General in the tavern for 60 000 000 gold.

Since the tavern refreshes the available Generals every few hours, it is possible that Subutai may not be available for recruitment when you open your Tavern.

You can either wait for the Generals to refresh or you can use your Gems to refresh the available Generals.

Similarly to other Generals, Subutai has unique statistics which influence his performance. The following table lists his base rate and his growth rate:

Every time you increase Subutai’s level, his statistics increase. The amount his statistics increase by is equal to the growth rate.

Keep in mind that you can also increase his statistics through the enhancing and cultivation processes.

Subutai’s abilities

Subutai features unique abilities that players can benefit from:

Subutai’s special ability

All Generals in Evony have a special ability that is always active and requires no development. This means that you do not have to invest resources and currencies into the skill to increase its effects.

Subutai’s special ability, Mongol Conquest, increases ranged troops’ attack by 40 percent. Furthermore, it increases ranged troops’ defense and health points by 20 percent when Subutai is leading the army.

What should Subutai be used for?

In some scenarios, you can assign a General as an Assistant General to the main General. We recommend that you use Subutai as an Assistant General to enhance the main General’s capabilities.

You can pair Subutai with Douglas, Charles II, Simeon, Edward III, James Conrad and Eleanor. It is imperative that you never pair Subutai with Elektra and Minamoto no Yoshitune, as their skills are incompatible.
