You are invited to take up the role of a lord or a lady in this thrilling mobile game, Evony: The King’s Return. Since the game is based on the classic video game, Evony, you will likely encounter similar mechanics and features in both versions. The goal of this game is to build an empire from the ground up in order to become a powerful monarch.
Evony: The King’s Return has an array of activities and occasional events for you to enjoy, but keep in mind that some may initially be locked. Once you have met the necessary requirements, you will gain access to these fun features.
While exploring the map, you will discover tiles with monsters and boss Monsters on them. You can defeat these enemies to receive rewards, including resources.
Monsters and bosses
There are different bosses you can defeat, but each Boss Monster has a specific level. If your level is lower than the boss’ level, the chances of defeating it is quite low. However, if your levels are equal, or if your level is higher than the boss’, you may defeat it.
Boss Monsters are one of the most efficient ways to obtain speedups, resources, and experience points. These enemies are randomly placed around the map and can range from level 1 to level 17.
Boss Monsters always spawn on the map, but they are more prevalent during a Boss Monster Event.
Evony: Monster resources
There are 2 categories of monsters, namely, the normal Boss Monsters and the Event Boss Monsters. Even though you get numerous rewards for defeating a normal Boss Monster, it is not guaranteed that you will receive resources.
While defeating an Event Boss Monster guarantees resources that can be used to upgrade your keep and recruit troops, among other things, the Event Boss Monsters on the map change with each new consumption event. This generally works on a 2-week cycle with the event being active for 10 days.
There are currently 16 Event Boss Monsters in the game and each monster has varying levels. It is alleged that the rewards highly depend on the monster’s level, which essentially means that you will gain more rewards and resources if you defeat a monster that is on a higher level.

Battle mechanics
All Boss Monster battles in Evony: The King’s Return are turn-based, and you will get a chance to attack with one tier of your troops first. If you kill the monster after your turn, the battle is over.
However, if you only reduce the boss’ health, then he can deal damage to your troops during his turn. This will continue until the boss is dead, or you lose 10 percent of your troops.
Keep in mind that you lose the battle if 10 percent of your troops are defeated. The objective of the battle is to defeat the boss with no losses. Hence, you should try to defeat the boss in the first round of the battle.
