Mordred is regarded as one of the best Generals in Evony: The King’s Return for Monster Hunting and for Mounted player-versus-player battles.
In this strategic mobile game, Evony: The King’s Return, players are invited to assume the role of a lord or lady in medieval times. The game is based on the classic video game, Evony, so it will probably have similar gameplay and mechanics.
Even though the primary focus of the game is to grow an empire from scratch, you can also enjoy activities. You can recruit troops, defeat enemies, collect resources, purchase Generals, and construct an array of buildings in your keep.
One of the Generals that you can procure is Mordred – a Knight of the Round Table.
Are there varying General rarities?
There are 8 different rarity types in Evony. The higher the rarity, the better the General is. Players can identify a General’s rarity by looking at the border around the General’s profile. If the colour is green, it is a Common General, while Uncommon Generals have a purple border.
A blue border signifies a Rare General, and a purple border indicates a Legendary General. The highest rarity is Epic, and these Generals have a Gold border.
In addition to these rarities, you can also discover Purple Historic and Gold Historic Generals, which are considered the strongest Generals in Evony.
Evony: Mordred
In Evony, Mordred is a Knight of the Round Table, and he will defeat King Arthur in the Battle of Camlann. Players can purchase this General from the Tavern in your keep.
Bear in mind that Mordred is not always available for purchase, so you should keep an eye on the Tavern to see when he becomes available.
If you are waiting for Mordred to become available for purchase, it is recommended that you save your gold, as he costs approximately 60 million gold to unlock.
Similarly to other Generals in Evony, Mordred has a special skill. His skill, Knight Of Treachery, is always active and requires no development. This skill increases mounted troops’ attack by 40 percent and increases ground troops and mounted troops’ defence by 30 percent.
However, this skill is only active when Mordred is leading the army. Players should thus ensure that they select Mordred as the leading General before deploying an army.
In addition to a special skill, Mordred has several specialities, which are listed in the following table:
Speciality | Description |
Formation |
|
Mounted Troop Ares |
|
Battle of Camlann |
|
Unlike Mordred’s Special Ability, his specialities are only unlocked when he reaches level 25. They can be quite expensive to develop, as it requires Gem and Runestones.
Can Mordred be ascended?
Players can ascend Mordred to improve his star-rating, which has a direct impact on his abilities. The table below lists each ascension phase:
Ascension level | Description |
1-star |

2-star |

3-star |

What is Mordred good for?
Mordred excels both as a Mounted PvP General and a Monster Hunting General. In these roles, he is considered one of the best Generals in Evony.
However, his special skill adds a 30 percent defence to both mounted troops and ground troops, so you can use him for those purposes as well.
