After using Surtr’s Skull in Evony, the fire giant Surtr will appear above your city for 5 minutes and you will receive rich rewards.
Evony: The King’s Return regularly hosts events for which players have to complete unique objectives to earn rich rewards. Monarchs can currently enjoy the War of the Ring event, which consists of different sub-events.
One of these sub-events is Surtr’s Fury, which requires that you fight the powerful fire giant, Surtr.
Enraged by the loss of the Rhinegold, he breathes fire at the land, seeking to incinerate the world. Great Monarchs have to unite to defeat Surtr and earn rich rewards.
Once you have destroyed Surtr on the world map, you can earn Surtr’s Skull. Players can use this item to call the fire giant Surtr above their city for 5 minutes.
You will also receive 5 Runestone Chests, 8 Refining Stones and 8 60-minute Speed-ups.
Since it is quite difficult to defeat Surtr and earn his skull, Evony has given gamers the opportunity to purchase the item in exchange for a Rhine Gold Ring. The Fantasy Shop can be found in the Gimle Legend event.
For every 100 Rhine Gold that you contribute to your chosen General, you will receive 1 Rhine Gold Ring, which can be used to procure Surtr’s Skull.
Once you have Surtr’s Skull, it will remain in your inventory until you are ready to use it.
War of the Ring events
In addition to vanquishing Surtr, players can enjoy a variety of events to earn rich rewards. The following table lists the sub-events that you can enjoy as well as a description of each:

How to defeat Surtr
Unlike other event bosses in Evony, Surtr cannot be found on the world map. Instead, players have to use a Surtalogi to summon the fire giant, Surtr.
To obtain a Surtalogi, you have to progress through the story which follows Melisandre and Gunther’s adventure.
The story chapters can be found in the Gimle Legend event menu. Once you have acquired a Surtalogi, you can summon Surtr on the world map. Keep in mind, however, that you conquer defeat the event boss alone.
Players therefore have to start an Alliance War against the enemy to defeat it. Every player who joins the Alliance War will be rewarded with exciting rewards, including Surtr’s Skull.
How to use Surtr’s Skull
Once you have Surtr’s Skull, you can use it to call the fire giant Surtr above your city for 5 minutes. Players will also receive a few rewards for using the item. To use Surtr’s Skull, you have to open your map and click on your empire.
In the pop-up menu, you have to select the “Blessing” icon to find a list of all the Blessing items in your inventory. Once you have found Surtr’s Skull, you simply have to click on the green “Use” icon to activate the blessing.
Monarchs should remember, however, that the effect will only last 5 minutes, but if you have more than 1 Surtr’s Skull, you can use the item several times to activate the effect
Will Surtr’s Skull be removed from the game?
Since Surtr’s Skull is part of the Surtr’s Fury event, it will be removed from Evony when the event concludes in 6 days. This means that you have until approximately Monday, 29 April 2024 or Tuesday, 30 April 2024.
This means that players will no longer be able to procure Surtr’s Skull by defeating Surtr or through the Gimle Legend event. But the Surtr’s Skull in your inventory will not be removed from the game, as you have already earned it.
Monarchs are therefore able to use Surtr’s Skull at any time to activate the effect and earn rewards.
